Those are for older 40 series hard top lift gates. Did someone add them to your 1980?

So, the splines on the slip joints are the same, but the depth of the splines are different. Be very aware of that when you build your DS. If it bottoms out it will crack your tcase. Or, it can slip apart.

I'd use one of the carb Isolator intake ports or drill and tap the block off plate.

Axles are generally narrower in the rear than the front. 5cm isn't a lot.. You might even be able to use the 60 series rear axle. Interesting concept.

On the cap? If it's leaking get a new one. They should not need any sealant.

I have the HID's. And love them..

I gave my son my 2000 F350 CCLB. 310K on the engine. We just had to replace the injection wiring harnesses under the valve covers and the injection computer, but it still has great power and reliability. I figure after 25 years it leaving me stranded twice is pretty good..
