IMPORTANT: Check your HVAC recirculate door and answer Poll

I am going to get this as a back-up just in case my sloppy repair fails. I would have done that in the beginning, but was leaving on a Pacific northwest trip in a couple of days and needed a quick fix. Excellent suggestion, as I had forgotten about that. Thanks!

IMPORTANT: Check your HVAC recirculate door and answer Poll

My LC's recirc door was broken by a shop monkey about this time last year. I was able to disassemble the dash enough to gain access and was able to use JB Plastic Weld on the broken pivot. Not very neat but it is still working. Broken part of the door. Broken piece. Repair is sloppy as I...

Just curious as to what octane you were using. I have read some research that this problem is exacerbated by fuels with a higher volatility blend. Seems that gas quality plays a factor. I've been fortunate as to not having this problem but I am heading into Colorado in a couple of weeks and...

    Driver's ed

Oops! Fortunately, looks as if no damage was done, though he does look rather pleased with himself. When my son was 14, I let him drive, for the first time, my LC from Hwy 127 at the Harry Wade turnoff to Saratoga Springs and then the rest of the Harry Wade road to the West Side Road...

    Let’s see those 200s camping…..

St. Mary most of the time is a rather potent wind tunnel, blowing down the lake. You will enjoy the boat ride. One of the boats was built back in the thirties if I remember and it was fun. The diesel engine had that unique "boat" sound. The more modern boat is a rattle trap. It may be...

Nice view of Haystack! I can't even begin to count the number of times I have driven that road. Still have not gotten tired of the views, even after 45 + years! Glacier is my favorite park. This is a picture of my camp at Kintla last year:

    Rotor Resurface

Are the rotors badly scored or grooved? Are they still within specifications on thickness? If the surface is not scored or gouged badly, I would not turn them and just do a pad-slap. Turning rotors tends to make them more susceptible to heat warpage and reduces service life. I would only...

Shafer Canyon. Same area. Needed to get a pass for the White Rim and didn't have time for that. Had to get into Moab by late afternoon then off to Colorado.

Remembering her first long off-road drive: Waiting for the up-bound trucks to pass. The road was rather easy this trip. It was in much worse condition a few years back.

200 Series 5.7 engine..Is it made in Japan or Alabama?

It's not a pushrod engine. Per Motorreviewer, "They are aluminum alloy cylinder heads with camshaft housings, four valves per cylinder (two exhaust valves and two intake valves), and double overhead camshafts. The valves are actuated by roller rocker arms. The 3UR-FE engine has hydraulic...

    2018 LC200 High Beam Q

In my '21 LC, I have found that the headlights are fine on flat, level roads. High beams give a good horizontal spread and do reach fairly far. The fly in the ointment is the low and high beams while giving a great horizontal spread, there is nothing vertically. You get this bright ribbon...

    LC200 Alignment Question

I have had my LC aligned five times as it pulls to the right. Done this since I bought it with two miles on the odometer. The first three times were under warranty at two different dealers. I don't remember where the fourth was done. It was some independent shop. The last alignment was done...
