Changed a wheel bearing that was getting rather crunchy. The job was far, far easier the second time - I credit this to knowing how to do it, and because I'd been in that side 6 months before, everything was quite easy to break loose.
...and more rust work. My MIG welder is currently...
Reviving an old thread. Just got more detailed pictures off of someone selling a BJ70 on FB marketplace. Their white bar is missing interestingly. The bar and small tab don't look hard to fabricate, however the seatbelt hardware is a bit funny looking. Would be great if someone could suggest...
Haven't posted in months... My cruiser windscreen got smashed in Jan. This was the appropriate time to rectify some rust in the flange, but I did the unthinkable and paid someone else to fix it for once.
Glad I did, as the job turned out to be a bit beyond my energy and skill levels. Some truly...
s*** happens. Important thing is to learn from it. Mind you, s*** still happens post-learning, just with less frequency. Glad he could get it fixed and a bit of a project out of it.
Bloody well took long enough! Got my floorpans painted where I'd done the rust repairs months ago. Ground the welds back fractionally, covered with a product called Brunox. Rust converter and epoxy primer all in one. Mildly skeptical of 1 pot wonder products, but it came well reviewed. Then...
My mate's BJ71 is fitted with the second black bar set for seatbelts, so I believe they're factory. My white ones are fitted, but I'm missing the blacks, as well as the adaptor to the seatbelt. If anyone can get some measurements and clear pics of those, I might just make some up
Edit: BJ71...
Thanks for the quick reply mate.
Best I can tell, belt receptacles mount to only the floor directly behind the seat, with the reels mounting to the wheel arch. Will double check that's the case.
Will put up a request post, but yeah if you've got some you're willing to part with, or even...
Been a bit slack on Cruiser things this last month. Found it's best for my mental health to space out large, awful jobs (i.e. rust repairs) with small easy wins, like electrics. One of the rivets in the contacts for my dome light cracked, rendering it non-functional. Drilled out and replaced...
Hey team,
When I bought my Cruiser, it came with rear seats, but no belts, or the vertical bars by the window that they should attach to:
Picture is of a friend's Cruiser with identical belt mounting points to the floor and with top pivot at the vertical bars. Only difference is that my seats...
Was dreading starting this one, but I cut the rust cut out of my driver's footwell and welded replacement flanges. Ended up enjoying myself once I was back at it! To think this all could have been avoided had the windscreen not been left to leak for 20 years by POs...
