Ok thanks. Do you happen to know if the cigarette plug normally 12V or needs a DC converter?
If your truck is a 24volt model then the cigarette lighter is likely 24v… unless someone did something funky. The multi meter is your friend.

I will say, most modern electronics that get plugged into cigarette lighters have internal voltage regulators and can take a range from 12v to ~30v. You just need to read the small print and buy quality devices and adapters

My Garmin GPS runs on either 12 or 14 volts.

Drove around in the national forest beyond Harrisonburg. Forest roads were 2wd all the way.
Kids spray paint the heck out of flat surfaces at Reddish Knob overlook.
You can see NSA satellite dishes in one of the photos.

retired just in time eh?
My Garmin GPS runs on either 12 or 14 volts.
But that's important information! (If it was meant like it was stated). 🤣
I once got a radio rated 24V 'for trucks'. Worked fine on idle, but when the alternator came up to speed, it went into error mode. Next traffic light it came on again ...
The Chinese engineers took the 24V too literally and didn't recognize a 24V truck actually has 27.x Volts... The error limit was 26.0V.
Cheers Ralf

It was a failed joke. :slap:

The Garmin I have does indeed run on 12 and
24 volts.

Yes, connect the positive clamp to the positive terminal on your high side battery (where the fusible links are), and the negative clamp to y the negative battery post on the low side battery (where the grounds are). It’s easy to check the voltage with a meter to ensure the correct connection.
The Viair compressor works like a charm. Super nice package they put together for the money. #1 the included hose is long enough to not have to keep fumbling around the lava hot potato compressor when switching tires.

Cheers👍

Betsy acquitted herself admirably in Utah a few weeks ago. We redid Lockhart Basin again (after last year's shenanigans) and didn't have a hiccup. So nice to manually lock the hubs and not have any concerns. I even got to use the ARB-PTO when a buddy got high centered coming over a ledge.

I'm hoping my photographer passenger has some action photos ready soon?

But when I got back last week I decided it might be time for an alternative to jeck stands when maintenance calls...

So today these boxes arrived, and contain the Quickjack 7000TL (hydraulic low-rise scissor lift)
Yes an actual lift would be best but I don't have a lot of room so I thought this might be a good compromise?

Feedback will ensue for 70 series specific usage once I've had a chance to use them. Frosty wasn't particularly excited about the boxes but hopefully she'll come around once she sees how useful it'll be?

I think my CIG lighter is crapped out.
I'm getting 21V on lead wire connector with key turned on but nothing coming out to the little socket.
Can you still buy this socket ? Any part#s out there?

These things get a coating of light rust/corrosion inside. I've had similar problem to what you are reporting by removing the outlet and cleaning the contact areas with emory cloth, pencil eraser, and using isopropyl alcohol on a tooth pick. But, you really should have closer to 24v at the lead too, so may want to investigate your wiring some.

Enter your VIN in Partsouq for info on parts availability.

Ok, thanks. I hit the socket with some deoxit and wiped it out with a paper towel.

Very simple 5 minute 4 screw modification this morning. Chucked in a new half length center console, super nice fit. Should’ve brought one years ago

These would require the rear heat system to be removed, correct? I have yet to see someone come up with a nice console that still allows the rear heater.

Looks great, and it would be very nice to have the armrest!!

Good question, not a problem for me as I have no rear heat not even a rear backseat 😂 but you’re correct there’s no allowances for rear heat at least not in the one I put in. Yes it’s fantastic really makes me wonder what my elbows been doing all these years 😂

I know they’re working on a new series of consoles with rear vents for the new 76 series and dual cab 79’s etc but would be setup for RHD
