Woah, been a minute since I've been here. Slowly getting my life in order again, which includes attending to my neglected 70.

Needing a new waterpump, mine is pissing like a race horse out of the shaft seal. Open to rebuilding too if it's not too much mucking about, or vastly more economical. Could someone show me where I can get a guide, if that's a worthwhile option?

My 1985 BJ70 is a factory air-conditioned model, and the waterpump is a little different I gather.

ToyoDIY.com suggests I need 16100-59105 based on the frame number, BJ70-0004357

Also trying to decipher the measurements on this old Mud post, but can't seem to work out where those measurements are taken. Mine is 78mm across clutch flange, and roughly 139mm base to flange (inc. backplate thing).

Any help would be muchly welcomed.

Cheers,
Josh

What's your model code, i.e. BJ70X-XXX?

Having AC does not determine the water pump type; the option is between having a fan clutch, or a directly driven fan. From the size of your flange, it looks like you have a fan clutch.

Genuine rebuild kits are long since out of production. If you want to save money, buy the AISIN equivalent. WPT-074 corresponds to the part number you have given.

Make sure you also replace that small bypass hose attached to the pump, you read the odd story of engines being killed when they fail.

Got one on the way! Getting anything shipped down to NZ is brutal as usual, but so is not having a running Cruiser.
