well, after watching this truck exchange owners a couple times, i jumped on it. i think eco 45, bull, markieboy, now me. i really miss my rhd 81 hj47. it had a little more rust than i wanted to deal with. i'm having new injectors, glow plugs, and all fluids and filters replaced. i am also going back to spring under axle.

as far as plans; factory 16" splits with 33 or 34 interco skinny's. emblems all around. weather stripping, maybe new turn signals, although the 70 series ones are pretty cool. i need to clean it up and see what all is missing and needs attention.

i am planning on taking it to the 20th ann gsmtr!

Great Find

Looks like an clean rig love the Montana rigs, picked up an original Montana 45 last summer with no rust whatsoever.

I'm glad it got a good home. Shall I swap it on the registry?

Josh

Yeah. No denying it. LOL

So, this might mean that the fj40 or fj45 is up for sale. Can't have them all, although it appears that I'm trying.

I'll post progress as it happens.

Saweet Score Daniel!!! Man I gotta come check that thing out........ I've always loved troopies and that one being LHD just makes it that much sweeter. You'll have to bring it over to my place so it can meet its great grand daddy :grinpimp:

I'm a sucker for the 45 series.... lv's with a little love are beautiful. Especially with the t stamped caps and a stamped bezel.

I wanted that when Bull had it for sale. It's hard to tell, but did someone remove that large toolbox the could be seen from the wheel well?

Not sure as the truck is still in fl being worked on. my old hj47 had the welded box within the wheel well.

X2 and X2

I looked long and hard at that one when Bull had it. puff of white smoke ....psha

again, just trying to get her running and stopping good. Then I'm going to throw on some new rubber and get her down to the gsmtr event. Cannot wait!

Nice rig Daniel! Let me know if you had a line on anything else that might be interesting. I have a BJ42 looking for a big brother...

Cheers

Thanks Richard. Well my fj45 would make a great addition along side your bj42. I REALLY want to keep it as well but... I have to eventually prioritize so I can effectively keep these trucks up and running vs. hoarding them. ;)

Thinking HJ and LHD being in Canada....they seem to be thinking of getting fussy on RHD? Not sure what thats about?

I always drooled over this rig everytime I was out at the bullington compound. Funny to see it clear across the U.S. again! Nice score!

Ok... a little progress. All hoses, belts, filters, injectors, glow plugs, thermostat, replaced. 255x85x16 bfg km2s on order. IME deluxe suspension kit on order. Wiring, straightened out.

I still might make gsmtr after all! :steer:

OME not IME... also found a set of sexy 16" splits for her. ;)

Can't have them all...

This is exactly why I've passed this up everytime, and why I'll probably never own a Troopy. I can't bring myself to get rid of any of my cruisers...thus justifying another one is difficult. Congratulations.

Are the original perches still on the axles? Will the OME be a simple bolt-on? Were the drivelines modified at all for the SOA? What about the steering, is there high-steer or?
