Getting ready for next weekends trip. Cleaned the mud off her and threw the tent on!

Looks like a tough line up that obstacle. Seeing that kind of wheeling just scares me that it may be the future of wheeling if they keep closing down "our" trails. Hope it never comes to that. We need to get you on some beautiful camping trails this summer.
Yeah that is the goal for the summer, i plan on running Rubicon through at least once with trips in to little sluice and possibly buck a few more times. Also i plan to run slick rock and deer valley at least once. I have also heard good things about Barrett Lake trail as well. I will be basing out of El Dorado Hills so it should make all of those trips relatively easy to do. I know that Justin and I were talking about going up Hunter Creek this saturday for a quick little day trip if anyone is interested in joining. Neither of us have run it, but we expect that we may catch some snow on the trail.

A new headlight assembly for the 98 Hundy showed up today, going to try to fit that in the schedule for this weekend.

@justintpryor nice... where were you guys? Looks like fun... I am still wary of going out and doing too much on my own. Plan on hitting up one of the HAM crams this year and getting a little Baofeng UV5R v2 to keep me "safe".

Has anyone done School Bus canyon recently? I have never gotten out there but would be interested in making a trip run up there to wheel and check out some abandoned mines. I can offer free geology lectures while out there ;)

Last I heard it was pretty washed out. I think that was a couple months ago.

I was just near the beginning of hunter lake trail. Very good roads for some fun in light snow by yourself!

Quick little trip overview of Seven Troughs Mining region. Went out in two vehicles and explored some of the old mining workings out in the Seven Troughs area including the stamp mill and town of Tunnel Camp. Tried to wheel inside one of the canyons but I wasnt confident that i could get through by myself wheeling in it. While exploring one of the mine workings we ended up about 800ft inside of a mountain before we decided that it was probably too gnarly for us to go any further. Drank some beers and had some sausage and chili for dinner. Couldnt ask for a better weekend trip. All of the photos are shot by my roommate Zach Youngberg. He is in the process of getting another 60 to build up with his father.

Here are more photos of the trip. The 4runner is our buddy Jess's that he picked up for less than a grand.

Nice run you guys. I love getting into nevada and seeing the sights. Most people just go thru NV on 50 or 80 :steer:and don't have a clue:cool:. Nice Photog. The starry shots are great. Beer:beer:,sausage and chili--sounds like a magical, musical night.:eek:o_O:flush:. Ya Brett keep the rubber on the ground.;)

I will be looking into a rebuild, but the issue that i will be running into is time. Plus I am not certain of what is happening to all the oil that i am losing.

Mine had the same issue before the rebuild, probably valve seals. I got it down to one or two quarts every 3000 miles using Delo 15W-40.
After the rebuild I ran lighter oil over the winter, and I think I lost about a quart in 3000 miles even after breakin. Switched back to 15W-40 on the last change, and oil loss has been negligible.
