I seem to have some more than usual vibrations happening when my front hubs are locked. It doesn't matter if it is in 4WD or 2WD.

Also my driver side manual hub is pretty tough to turn. I am not sure if they are related or not.

Thoughts? Differential or in the manual locking hub?

check out your u joints and have the drive shaft balanced, especially the front.....

Remove the front drive shaft and take the truck for a ride with the lockouts engaged.

If the noise persists, then you have an issue with the internals of the front axle assembly.

If the noise goes away, then you know that it is related to the front drive shaft.

Dollars to donuts though, it will be bad ujoints or out of phase shaft. Most common problems.

Mark...

If you have a lift, for instance, and the differential and transfer case flanges are not parallel you'll get a vibration from that as well.

is it kind of a "clunk, clunk, clunk" when you don't have a load on it? Mine's doin the same thing.
