October Club Run - Mohave Trail, October 14-17 (1 Viewer)

Since we’re running the trail Friday through Sunday, we’ll meet at the trailhead at 8:00 AM on Friday, 10/15. It’s about a 5 hour drive to the trailhead from South OC, so I’m spending Thursday night at the Avi Resort, which is just a few minutes from the trailhead. I just booked a room for Thursday night ($50), and I’d suggest you book soon for the best rates/availability. If the Avi fills up, you can stay somewhere else in Laughlin, but it’ll be a few minutes farther from the trailhead.

If you’re planning to attend this run, will you please check-in on this thread, so I’ll know whom to expect? Thanks!

I am planning to attend . I have already booked my room at the avi for 10/14 Thursday. Looking forward to some great overlanding adventures . I booked my reservation directly with the resort and my rate is higher than yours Joe . I did book mine with 2 beds ( In the beach tower) , however as I am expecting a traveling partner . Potentially I could caravan out with other members attending this event, depending on their departure time from the OC?
FYI tips
The beach tower( Ground floor) does allow easier/quick access in-and-out of the resort property , close to parking locations without having to walk all the way out the main entrance . There is also a gas station adjacent to the property for fueling/ice/ Any last minute provisions prior to departure .

I plan on getting back on the trail with this run. I have booked a room at the Avi as well for Thursday. I plan on leaving from San Pedro about 3pm which will probably be a nightmare with traffic.

Here's a Google Maps link to the trailhead: Mojave Trail Trailhead. The closest fuel (make sure to top off your tank) is either at the Avi Resort, just south of the trailhead; or at Laughlin, just north of the trailhead.

The reason we make fun of you has nothing to do with which vehicle you drive! But, you can always hope that someone will bring a Jeep and become a more opportune target!
