So here's my simple plan...
1) Meet up at the Chevron at Cave Creek Rd and Carefree Hwy at 8A on Saturday
2) Head north on Cave Creek Rd by 8:30A, air down when we reach an open stretch of dirt
3) Cave Creek Rd becomes FR-24 north and passes through Seven Springs
4) ~20 miles in, FR-24 meets FR-269 (Bloody Basin Rd). There are two optionals off of FR-24
A) Humbolt Mtn & Observatory, a short detour with views from 5.2k, FR-562
B) Sycamore Creek, a long detour with some challenging obstacles
5) FR-269 west for 25 miles to I-17 (bailout point for those not participating in the Cleator Bar Hootenanny)
6) FR-259 west for 15 miles to Cleator, get your nanny hooted!
If you do not have a CB radio, you must stay in the middle of the pack...
If you have a closed rig with a CB radio, and would like to be the tail-gunner, volunteer here...
If you have an open rig (e.g. FJ40), please move to the front of the pack or bring a spare set of lungs!
Bring plenty of food and water! This is a long, dusty run...
