Bowman Lake area in Tahoe National Forest

IMG_0171.jpg

We did a little scout up to Bowman and decided the RV wasn't going to make it.

Since we couldn't get a spot right on any of the smaller lakes we used the FJ as a Mule to take the tubes and kayak to the water.

Offroading with my buddy in Angola.
My LC100 is still waiting for license plates so I took my wife's Toyota Fortuner - which was surprisingly capable.

They're fun but honestly the money spent vs. time used makes it a questionable investment. If I lived in a different climate or location they would see alot more use but they are kind of a PIA to pull off and put on every time you get 24-48 hours of decent temps and no rain. That really doesn't happen that often in these parts. It's either too hot or too wet and usually both. The biggest downfall is the s***ty Jeep mirrors. You can't tighten the damn things enough to keep them from blowing over at highway speeds. You are more than welcome to borrow them for a few days to see if you like them enough to spend the money.

New to forum : New 2012 FJ -

Replaced my 2007! Breaking it in!

Here are a few PICs. Only mods so far are the Pro Comp 3' lift with 285 BFG All-Terrains and the TRD CAI. Also a PIC of me and my father in law (his is a single owner 79.5 FJ 40 LC). I have a hard time keeping up with that little Beast.
