Hey everybody! Excited to have part of my fj40 to start on. I bought an fj40 frame for a good deal today. My plan is to buy another donor fj to steal parts/motor from after I get this frame restored and ready. The frame is a 1975, is that the best year to try and find or are most parts interchangeable during a number of years?

The frame looks in good condition mate :)

For CA 1975 is the golden year. Newest year you don't have to SMOG test.

The picture says it all! (Your daughter looking at it). "You paid how much"!

Reminds me of when I brought mine home. My kids thought I was nuts!

Looks good, I'll be watching.

Reminds me of the old "Flax Wheel" I bought for $5 and sold for $400.

Yes, good year. You have taken on a big project-welcome!!

1975 is a good year. Tubs are interchangeable up to '79, and like another poster said smog is usually not an issue if CO requires emissions.

Did you get a title with the frame?

No title with frame. Was able to look up manufacture date online

Keep in mind that having no title can make it difficult to sell it down the road even if you buy another donor with a title since the frame has a VIN stamped in it.

Yeah, I've done plenty of vin verifications as a former state trooper in Colorado. Won't be an issue here
