The Cooper ST Maxx are great for all road conditions and are excellent offroad. I’ll never buy another brand or style for my 60.

Had a fun time yesterday. Someone set up a cruiser's and coffee event in Dripping Springs, about 50 minutes' drive from my house. I figured it's a good excuse to test out Big Red and let the wife catch up on her studies. I expected a few cruisers to show up but was pleasantly surprised to find a good turnout. There was even a Porsche club event at the same location (do 3 Porsche count as a club event?)

Anyway, I got to meet some new people, one of whom is a neighbor, and got to see some awesome rigs. Big Red performed awesomely. EGTs were 850-910 and cruising boost between 17 and 25; more if I gave it fuel. It's enjoyable to hear and feel the big turbo come alive.

We later went to eat and headed to @bottombracket place. I must say, I'm extremely jealous of his toys. This one is a Turbo Diesel with stick shift and some enviable power.

We then headed to @Spallet 's place and that's when I realized I had been doing something wrong my whole life.

I must have taken over 100 pictures, but you guys get the point. Growing up overseas, I had always dreamt of owning a G-wagen. I'm going to start saving on the off chance he might sell one to me one day.

New shoes are in. Ended up getting the lifetime certs with a huge discount. Basically buy three get one free and a lower per tire price than previously quoted. Gotta love managers who are fans of diesel trucks.

I have them set at 50psi right now. They drive great and you can feel how light they are thru the steering and acceleration.

Looks like l"ll be putting the Toyos up for sale.

I would love some feedback on those KM3s after a few hundred miles. About to pull the trigger on a set of KO2 all terrains, but am also thinking about going with the KM3s. Not worried about noise as much as traction and road walk. Thanks

I have the ko2 on my Tacoma. They do great on the highway and did great on my Ozark trip. The km3 are quieter than my Toyos were, but I'll give a better review once I drive them more. Just remind me if I forget.

They look great. I’ve got 3500 miles on mine and they are still dead quiet. I run them at 45 psi on the street.

I've been driving Big Red around with the new tires. I can still feel how light the wheels are compared to before. Still enjoying the acceleration and easy steering. I've toyed with the idea of installing different boost gauge to see the true psi value the turbos are producing. Right now I can get a maximum of 60psi with little effort. The other part of me says, don't do anything you'll just break it again.

yesterday while trimming the trees a 2021 Land Cruiser pulled into my driveway. The owner was a friend I hadn't seen in a long time. We caught up and talked trucks. I don't care how comfortable and capable the new models are, I'd be too scared to wheel in them. Anyway, he offered me to buy his 2011 200 series with 100k on the clock. I must admit I thought about it for a minute, but I have too many cars as it is.

I love the Tacoma. It's offroad capable but still a work truck at its heart.

I see a bonfire in the near future.

Some pre-election results levity to ease the tension. Just remember no matter who wins tonight, the sun will still rise in the morning and the Land Cruiser will still be king.

I took Big Red today for an 80-mile highway drive and could not be happier with my choice of tires. They are quiet and track straight and feel light. I am convinced I can get waay more than 60 psi now since I got the gauge to go past the 60 mark with light pedal. I think I saw the big turbo hit 15 psi at the 60 mark, but Lee says I was at 50 when I recorded the 15psi on the big turbo. I'll have to verify which one it is later. However, I feel like I'm beginning to play with fire and shouldn't be getting the boost that high.

When I got home I noticed a run on the gas stations and my wife said she had to go to three different ones to find regular gas. Luckily diesel seems to always be available. Apparently, no one else I know experienced this, so it must be my extremely conservative county.

Just wanted to wish everyone a happy Veterans day and the Marines a belated birthday.

Getting big red and trailer ready for Round Up!!!

Still debating on switching wheels or not.

Well I decided to get the wheels swapped only to find out the brake set up I have won't allow it. I guess I'll be selling the trail worthy fab tires soon and I'll be wheeling with my brand new KM3s. Kinda annoyed. I did notice one of the lug nuts had come off somewhere on the highway today, so I replaced it.

So to feel useful, I put on more stickers.

It just occurred to me that if I use my spacers the old wheels will clear the brakes. It's not ideal, but it's a workaround.

Round-Up 2020 came and went. We attended with some friends and family, tried to stay away from as many folks as possible while still enjoying the camaraderie and the trails. I'll post up a bunch of pictures and videos later on, but here are a few for now.

I did most of the trails in 4 low while idling except for the occasional tap on the skinny pedal. I'm also really impressed with how sticky the KM3s are.
