Life happened today, didn't get to do anything I had planned. The wife called on the highway, her Jeep with 215K on it started missing on 4 cylinders, I had the same issue a few months ago. So we wound up car shopping, 2012 4Runner was the one we settled on but couldn't chew the 31K price tag. The search continues.

I did manage to squeeze a couple hours in the garage removing the rhinoliner crap, no surprise that I found more rust. I would guess that I have about 60% of the liner removed so far, the putty knife and hammer are getting some serious action. I may wind up taking an extra day off work to finish the paint this week.

Got busy on it today, I got some free time to start painting the axles, springs, and another coat on the frame. Doing it with the spray gun was absolutely amazing compared to the brush, my plan now is to start the topcoat on Tuesday around lunch time. Pics......

The budget will keep them stock also! The springs are about 4" worth of SkyJacker, no need fore to change anything up for what I do most of the time.

Although some lockers have croseed my mind.............

I haven't been tossing flies since the spring, June-ish probably, so I won't have any issues with fishing up north when I get there!

I got on the spray gun today like a truckload of day laborers on a free case of Keystone light!

Shot the gloss black topcoat from Rust Bullet today, almost a full gallon, maybe a quart left. Overall it seems pretty solid so far, I played the balancing act with the leaf springs, one fell down taking the rest along with it, one good gouge in the paint was all I found from the tumble.

SuperBuickGuy, thanks for the advice on spraying the paint on, it turned out a thousand times better than the brush was going, in about quarter of the time! Thanks again.

By no means is it a perfect paint job, but hopefully it keeps the rust at bay for a long time! hopefully it at least keeps the salt from direct contact with any metal during the winter, and beach trips!

Not much happening here, getting the truck and camper prepped, I did manage to get my engine block from the machinist.
The block is back on the stand, crankshaft polished, camshaft reground, cam bearings pressed in, looks like I am ready to start getting this engine back together. All new bearings, pistons, rings, from Beno.
I also picked up another distributor and ignitor from another forum member, my dizzy had problems with the advance, and who doesn't need a spare ignitor!

It has been pretty slow here with my build, I have had a lot going on with other work. I have to reseal my entire camper before I can do much of anything else! We managed to make a 2400 mile loop around the New England states, spend some time in Acadia national park, and just explore the region. I have had a few hours to do some minor work on the engine, pressure washed the head and got it and the block primed and painted! I will back up a little when I start posting the engine build, there were a few things that I did early that I should follow up on.

Got it back on 4 tires this morning. I need to source some new shackles and pins though, as I cleaned everything up this morning I noticed some serious wear on 2 pins and both front shackles. Installing the leaf springs and bolting the axles to them is more of a 2 man job, I fought the snot out of it alone! Now that it is a rolling frame I am going to get hot and heavy on rebuilding the engine, everything is ready, just have to get to it.

I have also received a couple boxes in the mail! One from Beno with a bunch of axle seals, motor mounts, and new tail lights! The othe box was from Energy Suspension, a master bushing kit, all the body mounts and spring bushings.
Now it is time to do some maintenance on the diesel dually!
