Just contacted Toyota spoke with some B I T C H that said there is no record of my vehicle and there's nothing else they can do... her words "toyota no longer makes this vehicle so i can't help you"... no f ' ing crap lady. How has everyone else had to find recall information?

Thanks

EDIT: called local dealership, they had to look up the VIN in a "different" system and found it. Both recalls have been performed.... good to know.

Hard to believe she wouldn't help you out. You sound pretty awesome.

I was cool with her... she was a royal c u n t. She was very condescending and rude because I was asking about such an old vehicle. I let her know many landcruisers are surviving and doing well. She seemed to think my old truck's safety recall was worth peanuts and that's waht ticked me off.

^ i had a similar experience. I guess i'll try again with my local dealership.

Additionally- i remember there's a website somewhere out there where you can enter your VIN and it'll tell you if you have any outstanding recalls.. cant remember where it is tho!

I walked into my local dealer and asked nicely. They looked up my VIN and gave me a printed copy of the proof of recall maintenance.

The service manager at Bell Toyota In PHX AZ was very nice and helpfull...

That website doesn't seem to work for me. At least, it comes back with nothing--just a repeat of the input screen. I'm pretty sure both recalls have been done on my truck.

Did not work for me also.

just call the dealer near you... I have a friend that is a mechanic at a dealership and he had never heard of any recalls on a 60... He put my vin in the computer by his lift in the shop and everything pooped up... the only recall that had been done on my 60 was the seatbelt... I'll be getting a new tank and lines in the near future.

For those of you that have confirmed this recall, do you have the Recall Number?
My dealer couldn't find anything on my 60 and told me to find the number and bring it back.
thanks
Jake

i have an '86 fj60 and the recall system link above mentioned says there are no recall campaigns out.

wonder if the recall didn't pertain to only certain years?

Using the search function, I typed in "FJ60 recall" and was able to very quickly retrieve the following thread.

The above thread yielded another very informative link.

I tried the online system first, nothing.... I called the number on the old recall notice I found on the 3fe site. I told the lady that I just purchased the vehicle and had no record of the vehicle being brought in for the recalll work.

I gave her my vin number, it tool a couple of minutes, but she found the information. My truck had the recall work done in 1992.

Here is the link to the recall notice on the 3fe group:
