I just ordered a couple of these standard black and received them this week. They really are a very nice quality and worthwhile upgrade over the OEM key. You'll immediately notice the feel of the new key fob. Hard to describe but it is stout.

Checking in here to update a few small items:

1. I'm exploring options on colors which won't require a clear coat. This may change the hue of colors slightly as it will have limited availability, but I think it could be an overall quality improvement.

2. I'm also debating removal of the Stone Grey as an option. The Battleship Grey costs less to make (and therefore has a lower price tag to you all) and seems to be much more popular.

3. I'm debating removal of the FDE option. It's tough to get the same durability out of this option currently as it involves a spray painted color layer instead of a dye that permeates the surface as in the other colors. I'll experiment a little more with primers and clears, but haven't found the secret recipe yet.

i may reach out to a few folks that bought the FDE, Matte Maroon and Radioactive Green to get a consensus on durability of those surface finishes. Feel free to PM me or even post here if you've got one of those colors and want to provide an update.

After going for a hike yesterday, getting a mile from the truck and realizing I no longer had my keys, I was kicking myself for not already buying your fob that I'd being eyeing. Just placed my order for a nice, easy to spot orange one

Awesome, thanks for the order! I've got a small backlog right now, but hope to be shipping your order within a week. I'm waiting on the most recent batch of titanium to complete.

I really like your idea of high visibility orange. I just placed an order for boring black.
Good luck,
Dave

Spend almost an entire day retracing your steps from 5 different hikes in a National Park to look for something you dropped and you quickly appreciate high visibility for critical items

I received my blue one a couple of weeks ago... Great quality & worth every penny to me since I don't have to mess with the broken plastic any more.

I just ordered your FDE. Delayed in the mail unfortunately. I don't really care if the color fades or scratches but I will let you know how it holds up if you want.

Yes, please let me know! I recently took the listing down for FDE because I can't figure out why some come out so durable and others chip and flake in small spots. I think there's a subtle difference in the pores of the plastics, but I can't figure out why. I tried a few plastic primers and they didn't seem to help.

I'll get the listing back up eventually and just add a disclaimer. I've been using an FDE for a while now and it still looks good with the scratches. In most lighting it's not too noticeable and it's a "rugged" color anyways, but I'd prefer it to be as durable as all the other dyed colors.

Anyways, that's all a long-winded way of saying "Yeah, let me know how yours holds up once you put it to use!"

What is FDE? Also what is your current shipping status for new orders?
Thanks,
Dave

Flat Dark Earth. It's a tan color that you often see in military applications, weapons, clothing, etc

Anyone have any experience with the YotaMD fob being too big to turn counter clockwise to get the key out of the ignition? Just got a fob and I am currently struggling to disassemble it while stuck in the ignition so I can get the key back out. Maybe I installed something wrong or my ignition barrel is getting a bit worn out?

Pic? What part of the fob is hitting what part of the dash/steering column?

Just replied to your email. I had one customer last year with a similar sounding problem, although I don't think the key was actually stuck, but rather had occasional resistance. In his situation the cause was a very worn key requiring further than normal insertion into the ignition and the use of a short blade Lexus key on an ignition made for the long blade (aftermarket key that just wasn't properly matched to the OEM key length).

Anxious to hear more details.
