That was painful to watch. Pretty funny when his traction bar folded over though.

wow, glad I was never able to see my axle while driving, I think I'm off to go get that wrap bar design now

here are some pics of my wrap bar. I have only made one trip with it along with a few trips to local spots. It is a night and day difference. The weakest part is the tractor link. It flexes slightly under load.

Specs: 2in x 2in, 1/4in wall on the crossmember and anti-wrap bar
4in x 1/4in thick flat steel brackets
2in x 2in angle iron on the frame
1.5in x 1/4in for the shackles
1 greasable poly bushing

So that's just a single tube? Dunno about that.

Edit: Ahh never mind I see. Hope that tube is strong enough. That bar looks pretty long.

id love to get a video of what mine dose when its working.. that video is a bunch of what not to do!

Mine is working pretty good, and has not broken.. i have hammered on it pretty hard! Made of 2x2 1/4 wall 2 bushings on the axle, and a bushing/shackle, and Flex Joint on the Frame side

When using a QA1 rod end at the crossmember. do feel it is best to only use the high strength chrome moly ends or would the economy ends work? They are like $23.00 cheaper. I am going with a 1/4 elipt. shackle hanging from this rod end. Looking at a 5/8" hole x 3/4" thread end for this. What do you think. Spend the bucks and forget about it?

Well, I went ahead and figured bigger is better. I ordered my shackle and I ordered a 3/4" thread x 7/8" bore chrome moly rod end. I also ordered a pair of misalignment spacers and jam nuts to mount it. I'll post up the finished product in a couple of weeks.

While on the topic, I just had Iron Pig build my trac bar and they used bushings through out. I was under the impression that a heim was needed for the angular motion during flex. Does anyone else see a problem with using bushings on the axle and frame end?

I don't know if it would be a problem or not. I was also under the assumption that a JJ or Heim type joint was needed on the shackle but I've been wrong before

that video is great, it speak volumes to understand whats happening down there.

i too am a fan of the single bar design, i did mine for clearance of the OBA tank. have been running it since i did the toybox dblr a few years back. cant see in this pic too well but the other end has a heim w/o the jamnut so it is free to move in the shackle to a crossmember.
