Hell no!!
That's pretty awesome... don't think I could do it.

You were dropping forever! How the hell do they find the correct landing spot. Too crazy for me. Were you freezing up there?

Radiator supports. Which way folks? Definite right and lefts but which is which?. Isn’t obvious against the rad or sitting on the supports in the truck.

Forget it. I spotted the shape of the radiator side on the mounts.

I think it might be easier to mount them to the radiator first and then put the whole thing in the cruiser

Okay here we have the drain ‘puck’ as my Napa guy called it. I’ve taken my plug to Ace and found it’s a 10x1.50. The equivalent in SAE is 3/8x16 (coarse). All the 1/8 plumbing fittings are 24 (fine) or the next size up coarse.
I went to Napa and no luck finding metric. My alternative is to tap it to 1/4”.... my question is that ‘puck’ appears to have enough meat to take a 1/4” tap but all you seasoned mechanics need to reassure me that that is correct before I do it.

Is the drain plug you're looking for straight thread (not tapered pipe thread?). I haven't had the plug out my 62 radiator but they typically not tapered pipe thread.

Can you treat this like an oil drain plug where you use a m10-1.5 bolt with a washer under it.

Did I miss what happened to the original drain plug?

If you don't have the drain fitting that goes there, you could take it to an old time radiator shop and have them either braze it closed, or install a standard radiator fitting in the same spot.

I have the plastic plug (it’s 10mmx1.50) but I want to put a 90 draincock fitting on it to make future draining less awful. It’s not tapered.

It’s a brass puck... wish me luck. Going to get the drill and 1/4” tap.

After too many back and forth a seriously for the first time ever I have a 1/4” tap and a 7/16th drill bit w/ a 3/8” shank. Math is not an easy subject for me and apparently the Napa guy cuz tho I said my tap handle would take 1/4”-1/2” tap that does not mean it’s shank will fit!
Irritated I’ll use a socket and box wrench to send the tap in like I had on the tcase.

Drilled slowly and tapped. Drain cock exactly like above will be at Napa tmrw for me to pickup.
That’s it for today. Nasty humid here and the mosquitoes are out in full force. Little ****ers.

Thought the drain cock would be ready to pickup today but not till tmrw. Too oppressive outside to do anything anyhow.

Draincock applied and clocked at about 4/5pm (facing it). Reinstalled radiator. Thanks for the reminder Greg, @gregnash. Top frame support reattached (I love the red). The vertical support I sheared a bolt on when I removed and will need to work on getting it out.

Also realized I was missing half the front upper rubber mounts so I cut new ones from a large neoprene washer.

Coming together.... unfortunately the paint I eyeballed for the fender red on the front valance doesn’t quite match what I bought mixed at a Napa. Kid had said he really didn’t think his scanner would get it as good as our eye and clearly my eye was WAY wrong. As my child said right off, it’s more orange. Yup, oh well.

Hey all, I want to add some sort of screen ahead of the radiator but behind the grill. I asked the welder what he thought but he wasn’t sure. Regular metal screen like in a screen door or would pet screen work? It just to help prevent too many bugs and junk hitting the radiator fins.
