Well I gave up the tree and I'm having the shop assemble the head. Just dropped off the valves and the springs. Primary guy showed me the warpage along the head surface. .005 right in the middle.
And looking w/ keener eyes his shop is pretty meticulous. Unused equipment clean or draped w/ cloth. Pretty cool to walk inside and see up close. If I could go back in time machinery or woodworking would have been my top choices.

~nice nice~~~~

The only shop I knew around here closed after 80 years

looks like your toyota head shrank to 4 cylinders and 16 valves >.>

that looks like an hefty flywheel too

hope it all works out well~~

Yeah I asked about that flywheel. Huge! It had fractures along the face too. Not bad but easy to see by the naked eye. He said it wasn't a big deal. And def not my head in that pix.

Two husbands sounds like a real migraine.

Good to get is sorted and nice shop, I want a blue box like that with time saving tools: I need a lot of them.
Or does it only contain the phone-number of the cleaning lady?

That last line... a good friend from many many years ago used to mantra that to me. Thank you. It's nice to hear it again.
