Hey folks! I'm usually in the 60 and 80 Series forums but I've had my eye on a 200 Series for some time. I had a neighbor that was going to be selling me his 2009 but that fell thru last Nov so I'll be on the hunt again soon. In the meantime I was trying to figure out what I was going to build for what I hoped was going to be my "new to me" 200 Series. I put things on the back burner until @usmcHOG dropped me a PM about using his truck to prototype with. This was perfect since he's local to me so off I went to go pick up his truck.

Having complete access to a 200 has been fantastic. The issue though is its been raining for 25 out of the past 40 days and it made developing and prototyping nearly impossible when you work out of your house :(

I've now identified nearly 30 different products for the 200 Series and I'm at the point where I need to start getting feedback on these and either decide to move forward on development or just toss out the idea altogether.

I'm sure none of you are familiar with my little shop called Wits' End but I do tons of product development based primarily around the interior of the truck. I don't do bumpers, sliders, racks, etc. Way too busy of a market place for that stuff and I really don't feel like sitting and welding all day everyday. Instead I focus on sheetmetal, CNC, soft goods, etc. Bolt-on On Board Air systems is something that I'm really into recently and the 200 is no different.

So I will be posting here on this thread to answer questions but I will also be starting new, dedicated threads when I'm ready to start honing in on the specifics on some of the stuff I'm working and looking for general and specific feedback so that I can go into production with these ideas and maybe get them into your hot little hands :P

Here is what my driveway looks like with the help of usmcHOG's 200 :flipoff2:

Mr. bury me in my 80 on the 200 forum huh? :hmm: Must admit...I've been lurking too

Looking forward to it! Suggestion: Tie down fixtures in the cargo area. I've taken the third row seats out of my LX and have some nice useable space. However, to safely stack luggage, decoys, etc., etc above seat level, I've got to string a net and have no tie down points other than the ceiling grab handles. The lower tie downs end up being the baby seat tie down points. Solutions?

Other Suggestions: How about a fixture to keep the second row seats up without using the straps? My LX 470 had nice struts to keep the seats in place. How about an insert with a door for small item storage to take advantage of the unused third row cup holder and miscellaneous storage cutouts? Refuse containment: Yup! Smartphone mounts custom made for the 200/570 that are solid, out of the sun, close to eye level, out of the way?

I could go on...

Oh!!! a pre-cut, well-fitted, rubber-backed carpet and/or plastic mat/liner with 2" sides (ala' Husky Liner) that fits a 200/570 cargo space without seats?

A recovery strap hook that is rated and doesn't cost a hundred bucks?

I could go on...

CB radio mount.
CB radio antenna mount.
Fire Extinguisher mount.
Tee shirts with 200's on 'em!
Stickers.
:)

(if you change your mind about the 80-series, PM me!)

My two cents. Joey @NLXTACY is an American Original. He is creative, passionate, smart, skilled, funny, committed and has nice friends. I aspire to membership in the Joey Fan Club.

He builds good s***, subscribed.

I have been too.

Joey has always been very helpful in the 80 series group even before Wit's End was his baby.
I have quite a few of his well thought out and executed products on my 80.
I'm glad to see him getting into the 200 market!

Yes I have a solution but I haven't pulled the trigger on it yet but I suppose now is a good time to show them here and get some feedback on these before I start the production on them.

These Anchors are steel that will ultimately be nickel plated for further hardness/strength. If you've ever been mountain climbing then you are already familiar with what they are good for. I changed around the design a little but to be able to natively mount using the same 7/16" bolt hole used for seat belt mounting. Plus I make them flat bottomed instead of arched for use on boulders. I also have two angles (90 and 120º).

Refuse containment: Yup!

No issues there ;)

Trash and Junk Organizers- Refuse Containment System (RCS)

I'll make that a separate thread.

CB radio mount.

Instead of HAM?!

CB radio antenna mount.

On a stock truck? Hmm, the tolerances on the sheet metal are pretty crazy on the 200. I actually hadn't considered this one but I'll take a look.

Fire Extinguisher mount.

Already on it, I'll be starting a new thread on it ;)

Tee shirts with 200's on 'em!

HAHAHA, I actually have an idea I've been playing with. Hmm...

(if you change your mind about the 80-series, PM me!)

I don't think anyone would want my truck ;)

I have a few of Joey's things and can attest to his meticulous nature. I also spoke with him at length about some of what he has in store for the 200 series and you all should be excited. Makes me almost want to buy a 200. Almost. :moon:

I wanted a 200 before Joey stepped up, now it is an obsession.

Need to buy lots of stuff so he can hire staff and go to events.

Yeah this year I'd love to be able to step things up a bit. I've almost saturated the hell out of the 80s so I knew I needed to expand. I F'ing hate Jeeps so I'm doing everything I can to stay with Toyota trucks. :D

If you are looking for a good condition 200 on the cheap, there's a white one here in AZ, rust free, lots of highway moles for 26K.
