Just to throw a monkey wrench into the works....It's my opinion that the glove box is a terrible waste of valuable space and should be cut out entirely. So that's what I did. The glove box (I think) is worthless.

Jerry cans can now sit upright on the floor in that spot - the perfect location for them. I think cutting out the glove box was one of the best 'mods' I've done to my truck. I have to admit- it takes some courage.....

not sure placing the jerry cans there is a goos idea, the obvious, robs passenger of legroom and not to mention gas fumes in the cockpit.

mine is in like new condition.

id like a micro microwave oven.
seriously though, USBs, locking, three pronged plug if an inverter is installed elsewhere in the truck.

In the background there is a LOT of drama going on with my sheet metal production that I haven’t detailed because frankly I’m tired of feeling like I’m bitching about the lack of good shops around me. It seems every single time there is yet another reason why my shops can’t deliver on time and ultimately why I can’t deliver on time.

This time I reached out to a fellow Land Cruiser fabricator and he busted me a solid by introducing me to a new shop. These guys are bending over backwards to fill all of my orders. So I missed my shipping deadline but it’s only be a few weeks.

For now I just have a small issue with the 60series glovebox Insert. They are bending these up but there is a little issue with the brake being able to grab this little corner. Turns out I’ll need to remove it. It’s not ideal but I want folks to know before they get their insert but it doesn’t look the same.

I hate to ask, but is there a possibility of bending that edge first and then punch/cutting the end to create the space for the glove box arm? Unfortunately would add a step which adds cost.

Cost isn't the limiting issue. This is a new shop for me so I am trying to work within their tool set. They are going to run one as is to see if they can do it but plan B is to remove it.

Just heard back from the shop. They did up the first article to test against the go-no go gauge while they weld it up. They were able to keep that little tab which makes me happy. Unfortunately they missed all of the Pemnuts that is supposed to go in. Boo. They are fixing now though. They still need to make the shelf to make the kit complete but thats next.

I've lost track: are you also going to make a locking door?

I need to see how demand is. The glovebox is cool but only ten have pre-ordered. As of this moment this is another loss for me so I'm hoping as folks see these installed that there will be more interest. Not holding my breath. The locking door I really want to do but if its just ten folks, or less, well...it might mean I need to concentrate on 80s stuff :(

You will sell more....I am sitting on the sidelines until I see it installed, but want one....I am sure I am not alone.
