Since the last entry about leaf spring packs, I’ve removed an additional leaf out of the front and the front is exactly where it needs to be. I’ll be doing the same with the rears when I get home this weekend.

From the fronts, which were OME heavy, I ended up removing the 2 squared off, second longest ones.

From the rear, which are mediums, I’ve removed the next longest one from the military wrap. On the fence on which I’ll be removing next.

Alright Brian, finally wrapped this up with much success. On the rears I removed the shortest leaf but ended up running out of threads on the U bolts so dug around my growing spring pile and found some short guys. These were left over from the original (to me) springs that were on the truck and were about 12” long. I wire brushed, degreased and then hit them with rust reformer.
The pin hole in them was off center so I oriented them so the long side was to the rear, like the springs.

Quick test drive and the ride is noticeably better. Also the truck sits level not all butt in the air and the shackle is now at an angle.
