I forgot to take a pic of the shorties I added, here is a front and back of what sticks out of the U-bolt bash plate:

Now I'm confused.

So at this point in the rear you are running five of the original OME leaves and the shorty or four and the shorty? What's the shackle angle look like at rest?

I still have five original OME leaves and already the U Bolts are too long so may have to a add a short leaf back like you did or buy new u bolts.

BTW, one is supposed to cut the extra length off the u-bolts, so they don't get caught up on the trail snags.

Shackle angle finally is an angle. Before it was as vertical as vertical can be.

I am running 4 original OME leafs with the shorty.
The only reason for the shorty was I didn’t want a stack of washers vs a hunk of steel.

Found another one for a picture. They are about 2.5 small klaxons long.

Very nice!

Looks like I would either have to remove one more leaf and get shorter u bolts or put the hard top back on to get any where near that kind of shackle angle.

Thanks for the experimentation. I'm probably going to be adjusting these rear springs for the third time.
