I'm suprised how folks around here have been very reserved with their comments on your 40. I have a feeling they are going to rip the band aid off.Well thank you, your reply is much valued, but crackhead? Yikes. Please explain.
Don’t be silly; some people will pick it apart regardless!!The folks on this site know Landcruisers and they will pick it apart if ..
Thanks for catching that and breaking down the dates—I appreciate the expertise. I’m definitely not a Land Cruiser historian, and I called it a surveyor based on what the previous owner told me, but clearly it's a bit of a Franken-Cruiser! I want to be 100% honest in my ad. Based on the 2F, ambulance doors, and tire carrier, it sounds like a later body/engine or a heavily upgraded early model. I’ll grab the frame VIN and engine block numbers tonight. Would you mind helping me decode what I actually have here so I can price and list it accurately?"
No I have not, but thank you for mentioning that site. I appreciate it. I'm far from an expert. I will be visiting that site this evening. Thank youHow much your thinking it’s worth is going to be a lot different from how much it is worth
You may want to get an idea of value here
Have you looked on fourbie exchange website?
I must say your reply is far by my favorite. Thank you. I am definitely learning a lot. The enthusiast are wonderful. They have so much knowledge. I'm thankful they share this info with me. Although I've received a few LOL's and have been picked at, the entire experience is so exciting. Every morning I look forward to opening the new comments or mail I receive. Thank you for your replyThe classifieds here on this forum is a good place to sell it as long as you represent it honestly. The folks on this site know Landcruisers and they will pick it apart if you try to misrepresent it. The positive side is you will learn a lot about it and probably some things you don’t already know. Listing it here first will give you an idea of the true condition and the value from an enthusiast crowd.
I was about to say this needs to go in the Craigslist Crackheads thread in Chat. But it looks like the sum of the parts is greater than the value of the whole here. The soft top parts look really nice. Hard doors in the bed look good, too. Could get something for the PTO winch (if that's what it is). I see lots of accumulated parts. But the car itself is a mid-4-figure project base (imo). Still $35K is . . . ambitiousI see this is now for sale for $35K OBO.
Is this an non US import? Ambulance doors didn't start in the US market until 1/75. 2F was not until 1/75 in any market. That spare tire carrier was first used 8/76. Calling it an honest surveyor is beyond a stretch.
Now sure I would call my 73 a surveyor but a lot more of it is original.
