Hi, I’m trying to wrap my head around new tires and wheels. I’m trying to put steelies with pizza cutters on my HZJ77. Local tire shop guy said this would work but I wanted to verify with you all.

Would these wheels work on an HZJ77 with a 2 inch lift, without having to do any cutting and without spacers? I’m trying to put 255/85R16 tires on them.

Hello,

255/55R16 is approximately 33 x 10 x 16 in. It fits without cutting.

If you are using OEM steel wheels, no spacers are necessary. Check your wheels offset.

Okay, thank you. Also, Juan, thank you for answering a few of my dumb questions over the past couple days :)

I appreciate you.

I have 16” aluminum wheels that came with the truck. Eagle alloys I think.

Well folks, the wheels I posed above don’t fit. Apparently the hub is too big. Can someone here treat me like an idiot and just send me a link to 16x7 steelies that will work with 255/85R16s on an HZJ77?

It would help if you put the year of your HZJ77 in your signature line. That way we aren't guessing since year typically come before model in most parts search engines. Or you could at least give us that information in your initial post.

I have the Yokohama G003 255/85 R 16 on 7” width Braid wheels with a 20mm offset. 2.5” lift and no rubbing. 1992 FZJ75

There won't be any 16X7 - 16 Hole steelies that will work for your HZJ77 without spacers. OEM or not. There is nothing out there that will work unless of course you have the rim cut and modified to keep the backspacing under 4". Stockton wheel used to do this kind of work but they no longer exist.

There are OEM 16" steelies that will work of course, just not the 16 Hole style.

I did run OEM 17X7.5 steelies - 16 hole style on my old PZJ70 without spacers but those wheels are from the middle east market for the hilux I believe and I don't recall the part number for those right now. The backspacing on those were just under 4" so it was pushing the limit.

I think back spacing of -35 or so is needed to run with out spacers

There is a bit of wiggle room between 3.5" and 4" BS.

These 42611-60B70 was just under 4" and worked on the PZJ70 I had without spacers. 17X6.5 I got the wheel size wrong earlier in the thread.

These don't look good though if you have flares though. Very much pizza cutter look.

Thank you! I am likely going to get OEM wheels.

Could you correct the flares look with some modest spacers?
