Have we picked a date yet? I just invited myself…
Just reread the thread, thinking maybe I should try to get it back on track….meh.

Saw where you said earlier you were heading there in early spring? I can’t really do that, that pesky corn needs planted. Not that I have to be there or anything, it’s still in a dream stage for me. Not sure if driving out twice is in the cards for me?

Also tried to see if Morrison Jeep trail was open yet and it doesn’t look like it, it sure seems like a good one. Maybe by summer but I wouldn’t hold my breath. Still lots of good stuff out there for sure.

Or by “picked a date” did you mean like you need one, like apparently me and DirtSniffer are a thing now, I’m pretty sure Karl and DJ are a thing, and you’re feeling a little left out?
Broski might be available but I guarantee he’s not paying attention because he can’t stand threadjacks!!

Our little group has yet to pick a date despite me prodding them.

I'd like to get that locked down so I can get a house rented

Are you exploring from a central location then? Also doing any large parks? Or just wheeling?

I’m a straggler in the little group, and was unofficially invited 😜

All are welcome! I just started the thread out of curiosity but maybe it can really materialize into something, even if only a clearinghouse for trip info. Or maybe it can become an organized gathering of some type. Whatever happens is good.

Am I going to be invited to the wedding? I'm not going to Wyoming in the spring anymore so I'm flexible. Let's see how SAS registration goes and plan round that?

I would like to stay flexible as well and haven’t ruled out SAS just yet.
Would be interested in meeting up with y’all

My plan is to push out from Burgess Junction. Dan already tism'd his way around the area maps
More tisming to come. I think we were considering running over to the morrison jeep trail/sunlight peak area at the end for a day or two, pending morrison opening. Even if switchbacks are closed it's probably still worth it. Good opportunity to tack on a Grand Teton/Yellowstone bonus trip after wheeling for those interested. I'm tempted to do a glacier trip before meeting up with the group. I need a travel trailer.

I need a travel trailer.

I'm working on an idea for a small hard sided pop up. Something big enough to sleep in, prepare a meal in, and that's about it.
I want the body of it to be about the same width as the 40, and the track to be the same.
Won't be as capable as my camp trailer that can go just about anywhere the 40 can go, but if Chris, Matt and myself can ever make the Alaska trip a reality, it'll be nice to have a dry place to hide if we have a day or two of completely garbage weather

Looks like it's 160 miles from Burgess Junction to Morrison area. 280 miles Burgess to Green River area, which seems to be highly recommended. Just an initial look off OnX, trying to learn it.

I'm going to explore making a sleeping platform in the 4 door 40. If I got serious about solo travel might even take a back seat out. I loved my roof top tent on my Tundra and wish I could do that on the 40 but would probably require two sway bars and we can't have that. I also need to travel lighter, not heavier.

Have you seen these? Another neat idea for a hard side popup.

My little camp trailer has been a lot of cool places.

Someday I'll make up my mind what else needs to be welded to it and I'll actually paint it. 😆

That's a neat idea. Looks like building it would be complicated though.

I'm thinking air cylinders on all 4 corners. Flip the valve and let it lift up. I can't think of the brand I was looking at that did something similar. Way too much money, way too heavy
