cosider the grey river out of alpine junction. subaru friendly (unless previosly mentioned rain).

in my y'ut, spent a summer there living out of the back of my pickup while working as a juggy on helicopter seismic crew. did I say in my y'ut?

not so fun experience: this was in '82. went to jackson and had a $5 milkshake

You guys gotta be getting wound up for this about now?!?
I think we're leaving in 3 weeks?

Trying to get the crippling load of work done before hand.
Had one guy retire out earlier in the month, and another milking a tiny booboo on his wittle fingew to the tune of being out for 3 weeks.

I am collosally f*cked at work right now.

I wouldn't mind another week or ten to get my sh-tbox running 🥲

I know the feeling, but I got pretty lucky this year, finished a job, got paid, got bills paid ahead enough to be gone, and another job waiting when I get back.
But even as good as it is the amount of coordination and work it takes to go on vacation is crazy.
Hope things shape up for you.

That's always the issue.
I really need to hire on 2 more guys. We were on overtime and behind almost all of last year. A hole in the schedule was the only thing that got us caught back up.

Hope things shape up for you.

The downside of being good at what I do. Scheduling is the only thing that screws me over for not having work, and that's become uncommon. I was praying for a show couple of months. I'd even take a week of nothing to do and paying the guys to sit at home.

But, I've seen real slow. It'll happen again, just gotta keep enough capital on hand to keep things afloat until money starts flowing again.

I bitch when it's busy. I bitch when it's slow. I am self employed. 🤣

I could afford to do that for three days at Lake Michigan. I told them they had to work these two weeks.

100%
Do you ever think there’s a reason we don’t work for someone else? (Hint I crossed that bridge a long time ago!)

Landed at Burgess Junction. Just waiting for the rest of the crew so I can unload the ClusterTruck

BTW, 2 grown men (one more so than the other, fatty....), plus 2 medium sized dogs are not great in a day cab pickup for 14 hours. 🤣

As you know I’m a big fan of my crew cab 6.7 tons of room & power

I just can't justify having 2 pickups at this point. I hate paying for them, I hate maintaining them. I only buy them as tools. For the little bit I use them for not work, I'll endure the little bit of being uncomfortable.

Some of the areas that have had fires are interesting. What burns and what doesn't is wild.

Day 2.

Chris tore off a valve stem. Again...

I drove up on a rock, then DanDan in DJ's rig decided to make me feel inadequate.

Found a nice little reservoir to stop at and have lunch.

The trail we took back from the reservoir was pretty fun. Nothing too gnarly, but a good time.

Nope. Not at all. We're just retarded and didn't have any with.

Which wouldn't have matter because that's what was in there already, and it got shredded, so we'll have to pop the bead to replace it anyways.

I saw a tool a while back where you could smoosh a regular valve stem down a tube and insert one. That'd solve the goober issue if one didn't get swapped out.
