Resi or non resi for the ICON extended travel coilovers? Resis are cool but do I need them more than I need the extra $220? I don't desert bomb and I would think that the non resi would be more than enough for going fast down s***ty roads for the short periods of time I would be doing it. What say the Krewe?

I drank the cool aid. But I probably should have saved the money.

I'd save the $$. When I replace my toytecs with Icons one day its the route I'll go. Think of it this way, thats another pair of 2x2 lights for the sides or something.

I got all the lights I need for the moment(more than i need actually)but it will be a nice start towards the UCAs that I still don't have. It seems hindsight is always 20/20 and that is especially true with truck mods. I think I have second guessed almost every mod I have done to my truck at least once except for the roof rack. The lightbar, lights, snorkel, suspension, skids, and bumpers have all been second guessed more times than I care to admit. At the time they were all exactly what I wanted but give it a few months and I wonder what in the hell I was thinking and why didn't I go with plan B.

Save the cash. Get extended travel and use the rest to go on a trip or butter up the wife.

My truggy is cooler than you.

Ah, i must have missed that you could just install new fluid and not have to remove the old fluid, or something along those lines that involved heating it up.

you just let the old fluid drain overnight, no heating required - although it can help

best idea right here

I know what you mean about second guessing, it never stops. Its what always happens when you buy X and then learn about Y a day later. Worst instance for me was when I had the dealership look all over for a truck with ATRAC, found one, bought it. Then a couple days later I find a thread on the blue room about the atrac hack for $60 switch . Just part of life.

Save the cash and use it towards UCAs. Not needed for the kind of wheeling you do, or I do.

But they do look really cool

FML....It's not the driveshaft. We replaced it this morning and it cured the takeoff and stop thunk, it did not cure the shuddering/vibrating. I found these threads on the blue room and I hope that I can solve the problem with a transmission fluid swap.

I really wish I could have found these threads sooner. There is so much info on the blue room that sometimes it makes it hard to find what you need.:bang::crybaby::wrench:

That's what I get for staying away from the blue room. The threads in reference to this problem are seemingly endless over there. Very disappointed with the thought of replacing a tranny/torque converter at 90k. That is not a very Toyota like thing to have to deal with. If I am going to spend 4k on replacing something I would at least like to be the one responsible for breaking it. Hopefully a transmission fluid swap will help with the problem.

Screw the torque converter. The driving in fourth instead of drive trick works. I just have to shift into drive for the highway. No shuddering at all. It will take some getting used to but it beats the hell out of spending money on a new TC right now and the lack of shudder makes it feel like I have a new truck.

I drive in 4 when trailering

I'm sure y'all tried PB butter or WD, tried hitting it with a big impact?
Also get a cheaper cheater bar and a 4-5' piece of like 3/4" iron pipe. I've gotten engine crank bolts that were torqued to 250ftlbs off that way

I got all my lights working on my 74 brake turn rev and turn working great :grin pimp:

Sawzall?

Also try heating it with a propane torch or if Layton's dad has an asetalyn (spell) torch that would be even better. Heat it up good then try it.
