Here is the start of the taillight delete. Use some 12 gauge sheet stock for the corner. Cut the strip to fit. When ahead and cut the bottom of the existing taillight housing out so to avoid the shelf for water and the related rust.

Rolled the car out in the yard, and blew some epoxy yesterday. Two good coats. Was going to do a third, as I mixed up the material, but when I went out the bugs were coming out for the evening, so decided to pass.

Talk about a pain to tape off!! Two people two hours to tape everything off!!

Nice job on the tail lights

Just went through the entire thread, impressed with your fab skills and dedication would be an understatement, now following and look forward to seeing it assembled, your work ditching the stock tails is superb as they are such a damage magnet.

Thanks for the kind words. Looking forward to wheeling without concern of losing the tail lights.

So, finally getting to painting the final color. Monstaliner painted. The white is my version of cyrus white. 25% of killer beej and 75% of white colorant. The orange is apocalypse Orange.
We did the lighter color first in the mid range area. Rolled everything, with lots of brush and foam work in the jams.

Then came the Orange paint.

Not extremely happy with the sprayed sections, which were the white color on the loose parts, hood, fender, tailgate; however, it will all work out in the end.

Before we installed the hood, cut out the liner and added LED lights while fishing the wires in the structure.

Here is my inspiration...

Source on those under hood lights please and thank-you!

Cool so you just throw 12v at them and that's it then, no resisters or buck pucks to deal with?

I put a 15 amp fuse line to the switch; however, yes, just 12v power and your done.

this is way to clean for a trail rig... SMORR called, they want some orange... i'm missing out i almost told my wife i wasn't going to the only birthing we could attend.. but i like my life

How did it do
Sad I missed it maybe next year

SMORR 2014 Adj 7x14.jpg
Unbelievable. Best compliment was that within 7 days of SMORR two of our members went out and bought 80 series rigs.

The under hood lights are perfect. Almost too bright. The front bumper lights, (that I did not post up yet) were perfect for night riding.

Only hiccup was that I went over the perfectly wrong rock and blew a hydro line on my hydro assist. Problem was that I forgot to pack the plugs to isolate the hydro if this was to happen. So, an hour later, we did a trail fix, and drove it back to camp. 4 dollars at orielly auto parts and we were back in action.
