Think about needing to open the tailgate to get to the tools. That's not always easy/convenient/possible... Same with recovery gear.
Being a Debbie Downer I'm always playing out the "what if"s
You are very kind. Foo has been quite an awesome journey and the Portals (and those 39.5" tires) just take this to a total different level. I am not sure it would be here today if it were not for my good friend Rob that helped build it along the way. He is no longer with us, so it is very emotional to look back at the old pages of these threads.I've been reading my way through this thread over the last week or so, got bummed that it was over. And then I realized the last post is from yesterday. I guess I'm all caught up on binge reading and now I have to wait for the new episodes. Anyway, I love this build. Definitely gonna copy some of the smaller ideas (bumper, boat hatches, etc). I love the portals, but just reading how much work it took was wearing me out. Definitely look forward to where this thing goes, although I don't know how much there is left to modify...
Really??? Not had coffee yet? You have to pull one out, reach in and grab the next, the last one will have a string attached to it to make it easier. My plan is to put Tools in the first, more tools and power dewalt tools in the second and replacement parts in the third one -- things not needed much. These boxes are pretty big, and hold a bunch of stuff. 22x13x6How are you going to reach box 2 & 3?
It seems like reaching in over the open tailgate to box 2 and especially 3 would be difficult... I'll be interested to see how it works once it's all done. I'd be inclined to over engineer some mechanism/method for getting to them... but I guess if box 3 is almost never needed it'll be fine in any case.
A freaking trip down memory lane and an awesome one at that. Looking back at Anna and Josh, it's crazy to see how much they've turned into young adults over the years. This seriously feels like yesterday when you bought it.Where she started...
