Got the rear geometry pretty much wrapped up today. Front tomorrow. Then we can meet up to review. Some time next week

Question of the day:

I have a car lift; however, taking on and off axles typically makes the car tippy, given the lifting points on an 80. My thought was to jack up the frame maybe 2' off the ground, then level it out with the leveling stands I got last year when working on the UTE project -- then do all the work there.

Any suggestions from those that have done 3 point of how much room is enough, but not too much? @nukegoat @jcardona1

I didn't have a car lift. Swapping an axle is incredibly tedious from the perspective of not having jackstands in the way whilst being able to articulate the whole thing through it's range of motion. The challenge you're running into it just something you work around with a lot of labor and trial and error, tacking stuff on, iterating, etc. Godspeed

Getting more excited. Got an email that @cjmoon has been working on the calculations and designs. Also the DOM showed up as well as a box full of parts from rough stuff.

I also was able to cut pieces off of front axle in a couple hours last night. Went through 15 cut off wheels.

Finished grinding the front axle

I know those grinding pains - It hurts me just to look at it. Black boogers for days! The project is looking great though!

I believe that replicating a success is a huge compliment, so that goes out to @nukegoat as the plan for the weekend is to work on the rear axle. Pics were scavenged from Marshmallow thread. @nukegoat, did you make those spring base things?

Not a lot done this weekend, however, got Foo up to the garage jacked and leveled out and rear axle is loose and ready to be pulled, had to go get some rims from the barn this morning to swap so it will just roll out

@nukegoat REALLY LIKE THEM! Takes a little different motion to get in, because of the sides, but I sit a little lower in the car now, comfort is great. I ordered with the baja style, so the water can pass through the bottom. I also put seat heaters in them.

Anyway, great seats.

Not sure, but I think this is what progress looks like.
