^ Actually my friend... I did not realize the date of the original thread... :bang:

Stock tbar at 21" hub to fender.
Nice! Do you recommend that size? I plan on getting as much hight from tire size alone for now. Is there a remote way you think a 315 would fit without lift. I am willing to cut plastic parts as much as I have to and even get wheels with offsets if need be. Thanks in advance.

I like the gearing with this size. Also, no rubbing, plus fits under hitch. I would buy a 80 before doing mods to correctly fit 35s on my 100.

This thread is deceiving because a 'lift' on an ifs rig like the 100 does not in any way change what size tire you can run. Title should be changed to 'biggest tire without bodylift or major modifications'

The articulate movement does not change... Only the point in which the tire sits at rest... Arc of displacement never changes.

285/65/18

Is this due mainly to the width of the tire? I would think that would be a bigger factor that the height. I ask because Toyo has a 275/70/18 that is 1/2 inch less wide and only a 1/2 inch taller.

You do realize this thread is basically 6 years old right? It was also just an FYI for newbs and was a statement not a question.

Actually it was a thread started to see what we all agreed on. Then once we came upon those sizes the mods deleted a whole bunch of posts and left just the sizes in my post.

Lift does NOT change anything to do with tire size fitment. That should be the title of this thread!!

How about the folks with the 18" rims? Lots of info and threads out there for the 16" rims but not much for the folks running 18's. I'm looking at the 275/70/18's (33.3"x11") and the 295/65/18 (33.1"x11.5"). I am confident those will fit, but would like to know how much bigger I can go. there are a couple companies that make a 305/65/18 (33.7" x 12") which might work but I would love confirmation on that. I WILL be installing a 2"-2.5" lift up front and a 1.5" out back. All parts have already been ordered. There is also the 295/70/18 (34.3" x11.5") which I think might be the perfect size for my rig, but don't want to commit to that before I here of others running that size or similar with 2-2.5" lift. Pics of any of these tire sizes on rigs would be fantastic. Stock height or lifted.

I can confirm that 275/70R18 fits completely.
The 305/65R18 nominal size is a wee bit bigger than 295/75R16, so it might be close.
295/70R18 is nominally close to 315/75R16, so I doubt it will completely fit.

I will also echo that suspension lift (t-bars and rear coils/spacers) is irrelevant to tire fit.

My local tire place would not install my 285/17/16 mud terrain saying that they couldn't because of liability reasons. They told me that at full lock the tire would rub the back of the front wheel wells. I found myself second guessing the info i read here. After reading this thread I am now confident the guys at the the tire shop are morons.:bang:

Now I have to take my wheels off and bring them into the shop to have them install the tires, then I will bolt the to the 100 myself. If only I could find a local tire shop that read MUD:cool:

I love that color combo. I have never seen that grayish blue color before. The silver and blue is definitely a nice look.

Really? Discount installed mine for me. They tried to prove tbey were gonna rub after they installed too ;)

Yeah it does seem to be a rare color, Pacific blue metallic is what Toyota calls it I think. We just picked this one up to replace my wife's 2000 that was totaled two weeks ago...:crybaby:

Yep they wouldn't do it. I took it to a different shop today and explained that there are more than a handful of folks here on Mud that have had no issues with 285's and they should take my money and mount my tires. I have an appointment in a couple days to have them installed at the new shop. Fingers crossed they won't back out on installing them before then.

I did 295/75/16 TG2's yesterday and so far no rubbing on the playout stock suspension ( while I wait for the rest of the lift parts to come in...). likely to do 305/65/18 TG's down the road..... Offset on the rim is the key factor, it looks like 25mm or 35mm on a 9 inch rim is the optimal

Just no really attractive rim options currently without running spacers.......

35" will rub if you go wheeling period. Is it a problem?? Not really... Maybe kink a fender at worst... Spacer will cause more front wheel interference, I have ko2 35x12.5 and have spc upper arms... I needed 1/4" spacer to avoid upper arm interference.., any more abd the fender gets hit harder
