Took my wife out for a lunch date with the 40.. Then posed for pic with its siblings... Any advice on how to lift the rear up a tad maybe an inch or two without replacing springs? I've seen the extended shackles, but most advise against that...Any thoughts?

What length shackles do you have now? Stock? Lift springs?

A 2" longer shackle will give about an inch of lift, not that big of a deal in the rear. The extended shackles in the front can cause many issues, especially with steering.

And/or have your springs re-arched...if they are old and flat.

Suspension is absolutely stock.. I don't think the rear springs are sagging... Did these rigs come with a rake from the factory?

Repaired my aftermarket door latch. The swedged pivot on the interior handle had gotten loose enough to disengage. Removed pivot and replaced with a 5/16-18 buttonhead bolt. Used an old hingepin bushing and the fit is perfect once you cut off the excess. Tapped the through hole the same as bolt and installed nylock nut as jamnut. Easy peasy one nanner job.

It worked so well I did the pass side as well.
No more slop in the mesh.

Update, found the 1" long 5/16-18 bolt is 1/4" too long. If you use 3/4" length the window will roll all the way down. Easy fix still.

Exactly what I asked... I love my BOSS airbags... Fully height adjustable, by adding or removing a little air... Easy installation.

Do you have any insatalled pics of the bags? I assume from the description they will fit 40, 55, 60 and 62.
Need a little boost on my 60 when trailer is in tow.

Yea, 2nd that plz... Although I am drawn to a little bit longer rear shackles rather the air bags since 1) I really don't tow anything in the 40, 2) shackle lift in rear is a way cheaper alternative to adding a minimal 1-2" lift.. Just looking to level the 40, my tall skinny 33's clear the front and rear fender wells..

Same.

The factory springs on the BJ40 sag a little in the rear under load. I'd been looking at getting springs reset but can't find anyone locally who will do it. Then I asked for quotes on getting the rear springs replaced and no one seemed willing to do it unless it was an A$1800 plus all-round spring replacement. Yeah, nah.

Here in Aus you can get a Boss airbag kit for the 40/55 Series for A$575 and fit it yourself, so I just may go that route. Adjustable ride height sounds like just the solution for my issues.

They look pretty easy to install. Here's a video from another airbag mob showing how to install such a kit in a 7x-Series.

This is the best picture I have... There's not much to see anyway.

They are very easy to install... They mount (top) in place of your rear axle bump stops and (bottom), to the rear axle, with an included bracket. There are two bags (with brackets) to mount and air line to run, to air valves you place in convenient locations.

They allow you to eliminate cruiser lean and adjust your rear height.

My compressor is mounted under the hood, so I installed the air valves under the hood as well.

I dealt with John, at slocruisers, and he was very helpful and knowledgable.

Get the 73-tub into epoxy... :)
