Spent some time this afternoon and got the 3FE mostly stripped down and all the parts and pieces bagged. Plan to finish up the rest tomorrow and do some scrubbing on it. It will be great to get the last pile of major grease out of the garage.

Question, for those who have done this conversion on a 40: I'm ditching all the smog equipment on the 3FE. What are people doing with the smog pump bracket? It's under two head bolts and is the attachment point for the front hoist hook. Should I remove it, leave it, cut it down so it isn't in the way?
Leave it and use it for onboard air.
Big thanks to @Awl_TEQ for being willing to customize the spacing of the letters! My booger welds dont do your panel justice...Thanks Kevin!

Where did you send the belts for rebuild? My seat belts came back from the upholstery shop for re-webbing. I had the shop remove the original tags and see them into the new webbing. After installing them I completed the installation of my axle locking cables which enabled me to install the drivers seat.

The bad news... Gunner is gone... I had him euthanized this afternoon.
He's been going downhill quickly... He still looked good three days ago... But, was rapidly growing wider and wider.

This morning, he seemed the same... He ate well and was somewhat active. Then, he started fading, so I fed him an orange Dreamsicle
And Chester and I took him for his last drive out to the DNWR... When we stopped to stretch our legs, Gunner got out and laid right down. I got him back onboard and drove home, swapped him to the Tundra and left Chester at home.
Gunner and I went right to the vet and she agreed that his organs were shutting down... This is my last picture of my old best friend.

Chester is very depressed... He seems to understand... Dianna is at her sister's house, on the other side of Vegas... She's upset as well... We'll get over it... But, not today.

Just finished refurbishing spare tire carrier bought on ebay a few months ago. Stripped it with wire wheel. Unstuck the rusted hinges and greased. Primed and painted dune beige. Ready to mount tomorrow. View attachment 1419411 View attachment 1419412
