Today, I performed the first 44-related task in 5-6 weeks... And survived.

I copied @jetranger (thanks Riley!!) and installed Red Line Tuning's QuickLift Plus gas struts... Now I will always have help lifting the hood!!

This was a 1/2  job at most.... The only issue I ran into was the brackets needed to be mounted, to the hood, exactly where the hood alignment tabs sit... I installed the bracket to the bottom of the hood lip, rather than above it...

Not the best video, but... Works great!!

Wow that's nice Danny great job!

Thanks Mike!! Good to actually do something!!

I know what you mean Danny, trying to figure out what I'm doing next. I'd love to buy another 40 or even a 45 we'll see comes up in the horizon.

I'd love to drive 44 and head for the hills with daBoise... The weather is perfect, but I gotta wait 2 more months.

Added some branding to the tailgate

The Toyota sticker is in genuine Toyota font, the land cruiser is as close as I could get at the printing compay and the 45 series sticker is my own custom fon, same as the 45 series stickers on the sides of my hood

I used POR-15's fuel tank sealer kit a few weeks ago and finally got back to fitting the tank into my Aqualu tub. All at the same time fitting up my transmission cover and seat bracket mounts. Starting to look like a completed cab again!

Glass bead blasting work on all the bits and pieces, primed and painted most of them. Does anyone think a tumbler (Think cleaning your fired brass for reloading) would work for cleaning the nuts, bolts and small bits and pieces?

Yes. MScruiser used one quite a bit for his resto. I believe it can take a few (like 10+) hours to get them really clean.

Alternatively.. check post #426 for a good idea on blasting bolt heads in here - Nut & Bolt Frame-Off 1978 FJ40 Restoration

I have used a tumbler on my small parts, you can get as aggressive as you want and it seems to not cut through the original plating on the cleaner parts.

It's custom built , I have made it on black Smith...Although I have taken design from net ..

I added an auxillary fuel tank. Put the filler behind the spare tire swing out.
