Mine is in for tires right now. I picked the kids up from school in it yesterday, they were surprised.
Still 3 feet of snow on the ground. Will rinse it off good before it goes back in the garage.
Will take a picture if all turns out well. Suppose to be 50 degrees today.

Being it seems to be the rainy season here in Georgia lately, the skies did open last Sunday and I used it as my Grocery Getter!

Now that my exhaust is out behind the rear tires on the 40, this last Sunday my wife and I went to the grocery store. I told her that on such a beautiful 75 degree day, we were taking the 40 with the "new exhaust". I showed her we can now roll down the windows and get fresh air vs fumes and can talk easier now that the side pipes have been rerouted out the back. Its been deemed wife-approved :D

(shouldve done this long ago!)

At the grocery store, 3 different guys stopped us while we were loading the groceries in the back of the 40 to talk about the cruiser and thier memories of thiers when young, or just about 4 wheeling. None of the other 3 knew each other but soon we were all swapping stories. My wife and I ended up in a hanging out with them just shooting the bull for about 20 minutes.

Its amazing how vehicles can bring strangers together for animated, lively conversation. Must be Cruiser karma !

Thought I would tear apart a TBI for an upcoming project...

Glad I did

Figured I would ask what brand of muffler you installed. Replacing the old rusty muffler is on my list to eventually get done this summer. I'm looking for something as close to stock that's out there and didn't know what others are choosing.

Started stripping the paint. Have started building my paint booth using the 10'x17' portable garage (Harbor Freight, 179.00 on sale this month) and bought the 3M seam sealer and primer. Going to do the HVLP thing. Have used it on aircraft so it should work on the 40. Will post pics as this progresses.

Bama: It is a Turbo muffler so its large but flat enough to tuck one on the outside of each framerail along the rockers. Quiet but throaty...looks like this

More prepping for 4-speed install. Removed the seats, gas tank, rear heater and tons of PO bed liner. Note to self, there is WAY more antifreeze that comes out than you think when you remove the heater hoses. Big mess in the garage to clean up.

Also got my box of gold from Dave in the mail this week. No more rusty bolts and nuts.

Do you have the model number by any chance? Looking to replace mine in the next few weeks as well.

Sorry to say I don't know the brand the muffler shop carries, I just told him I wanted to lean to the quieter end of the noise scale. Thing is most brands are very similar and the differences are where you want the inlet/exhaust to be positioned on them. Whomever is doing your exhaust work can source some options.

Had BFG All Terain tires installed. 33x10.5x15
Doesn't appear there will be any rubbing. Way better than the old dry rotted ones that were on their.
Also pulled the front seats out to get redone. Fabric was all original and lots of holes.
Started work on the rats nest of wiring from the P.O.
Got the 4 blinkers all in decent working order.

Rebuilt the knuckles and birfs for the first time. Not difficult, but definitely time consuming, and my body hates me for it today. I don't think the PO used moly the last time they were rebuilt. Some of it had congealed to where it was no longer effective, and some of it was heavily diluted from the leaky seal. Replaced all of the major components with a kit from Cruiser Outfitters. Marlin seals and Koyo bearings.

Also put reman calipers and new brake pads on.
