Got a new "Y" pipe made for it and installed. No more massive exhaust leak. (drive shaft ate a big hole in it) It sounds soooo nice and quiet now. I can actually hear the gears whining and the wind noise more the motor noise driving down the road now. It's 80 this weekend and I've got the top off and am not going to think about driving anything but my cruiser this weekend. :)

Nice looking truck, love to see more of if. Got a thread going?

I finally started installing "new" turn signal lamps on my hood skirts. I got tired of the factory lamps breaking and the wires getting messed up in the fenders. I'm using rubber ag housings that break away using amber leds. When I step-drilled the skirts, I had to remove them to deburr. Now I'm thinking of a whole truck refurb..... That came while media blasting one of the skirts at work on break. Maybe now I'll have to decide on a real paint color.

I stole the rubber housings from my son's 40. It had a Michigan plow setup.

4 speed then new springs and disc brakes on 79 axel. Working on front axel now. Not sure why just pics showed up in post.

Milestone

Finished painting & installing the last pieces I needed to get it on the road, hood, barn doors & spare carrier. Called JC Taylor to get some insurance.

March 1972 FJ40, 1st run

... Then took it on it's maiden voyage & debug run 15 miles to the lake, listening for any unusual noises & watching the gauges. Owned it for 3 years and this was the longest ride. I had replaced the 3 speed with the 4 speed and it STILL NEEDS ANOTHER GEAR, ... kept looking for 5th.

Taller tires or a 5-Speed!

Sweet rig! 33s and 3.70 gears will solve that problem. Fj60s have the higher gears for about $100 for the 2 3rds (usually). 50 mph = 2000 rpm.

Hosed her off and took her down to the annual car show. Amazing how many Cruiserheads show up at this thing but she was the only Cruiser in a field of 455 entries. The original window sticker really attracts attention.

Finally installed my HFS 4" lift, 2.5" shackles, and my 4+ u-bolt flip kit. Only broke one bolt, so all in all it was a success. Rides better even with no shocks, haha.

Nice! Really like your poster board too. :)

Finally pulled the old, aftermarket carb off and installed the TH carb, but am missing the 13mm x 1.5 fitting to connect to the carb. Hopefully will have it roaring again in a week or so!

Installed a donaldson/snorkel on the fender of my '71 then went to home depot & found a house gas vent, perfect fit since the original dust bowl cracked to pieces due to age.
