You don't usually see the splash guards in shape. I searched all over and I finally have a full set, but I haven't installed them.

Any pictures of them? Did you buy them from a private seller?

Where can one get those mud flaps?

New Stuff

I fixed my passenger seatbelt and installed my new seats. I also bought a newer hardtop, and got new tires, original rims, gaskets, seats, and master brake cylinder for my battle cruiser. I also sent my engine that I pulled last week to the shop to have it cleaned and balanced. Hell ya, I almost have my second fj40 up and running.

I got collector plates for my 82 FJ40.....that is all :)

Went to the junk yard Saturday to look for some tbi parts off a 1987-1990 Chevy/GMC pickup for the fuel injection on my cruiser but there wasn't a single truck there?!?! any one got sbc tbi stuff laying around?

Did compression test on my 77 FJ40.
Warm engine, dry test: 155, 150, 152, 150, 150, 155 :)

Shimmed my rear axle 7 degrees to aim the pinion at the transfercase for my CV driveshaft. Why the PO did not install it this way, I don't know. Thanks Roger at 4crawler for the shims.

Hey Skillet,
It is 4X4 Gyroscope , but it's Tilt Pro HD; whatever that means. Unfortunately, it doesn't have the cool little FJ40s as a screen option; I photoshopped those in. Regardless, the ap is very cool and cheap.

So I bought this app and contacted the designer to see if he could add in support for Land Cruisers, turns out he use to own a 4 Runner and made an update to his app for the FJ40 and FJ60, as well as a few other 4X4's... here's the text from the emails:

Hi Chris! Thanks for sending the picture, that is very cool to see how he mounted the ipad and with our app running! Yes I can definitely look into adding choices for other trucks. I love the FJ40 and 60s, those are incredible trucks. Right now I have a US model Land Rover Defender-90, I used to drive a Toyota 4 Runner that had a nice Warn Winch on the front, but ended up rolling it off road.. It was a great truck.

I am working on some upgrades to this app, and I will work on adding in additional truck options (1st including the Toyota Landcruisers!)

Thanks,

Leland

Hi! I think you will be very happy. We worked all weekend and nights and updated the app to include options for pictures of Toyota Trucks, I attached one image. We have many other color options as well, it should be ready as an update in about a week! You can let the guy who posted that pic know as well, and of course any nice reviews are appreciated lol.

Longer wheel studs for the fj40

Longer wheel studs
I must admit my wrenching has been limited this winter, but here goes.
I put on some Raceline Beadlocks and the rear wheel studs were o.k., but not as long as I would like. I run the Spidertrax Spacers in the front, so they had a better bite. I base this on the grunt force I use when tightening the lugs down.

Please see part #90942-02079 (which I found on here Thank You) from Wellesly Toyota seems to be a 1/4" longer.
It took all of 1 hour to install the 1st side, not bad @ all. I use a stock lug nut to remove, 2 good whacks and it's out. I understand the stress is on the c-clip, but they came out easy.

I used the impact and a stack of washers to suck-it down tight along w/ the stock lug-nut.

Please see the pictures, all went well, and a much better bite on the studs.
