One cheap ass amazon yard trailer, two ratchet straps, a couple 2x4's and a judicious use of bubba engineering

Tub-1.jpg

That tub is absolutely beautiful
It requires sanding in mask/gloves on a plastic sheet cuz aluminum and fitting everything before paint

I'm debating whether to have the cowl and tub welded at the front of rocker panels, its bolted from factory

Its getting a 1HZ with H55F and xfer case, have a full float rear for it, power steering is easier because the engine comes with p/s pump

A/C compressors are readily avail for 1HZ, just need to figure out I want to go with inside the cab bits and stuff that passes through firewall.

Its going to be a long haul

Edit, I should have posted pic of other side.....fuel pot has been relocated for a rear tank

Mine is sitting against my garage wall and needs the same restoration.
Should be easy resto. Rivets on the drip rail/rain guard punched right out after grinding the heads. Went and picked up the replacement from CCOT. Everything lines up perfectly, just need to tack weld it together then rivet to cap once it's ready.

How did you apply it? Looks like it went on really nice
Thank you. I used the spray gun that came with the Lizard Skin and the spray gun that came with the Raptor Liner. Lots of masking... in fact, maybe too much foil on some of the ducting and wiring. I missed a few spots on the inside firewall. It's not perfect, but neither is the truck.

… Started putting things back together between meetings after I found the bolts.
Why are the bolts always lost?!? I’m careful, I put them in bags or trays, I label them, seemingly put them in a logical place.. weeks or months later..just gone! Well temporarily usually.

That looks like a professional job! I paid $850.00 to have my Rhino Linner sprayed and with a mixture of paint code 621

This might be a dumb question but do people document the condition of there vehicle before applying liner on it? Especially over vehicles. I’m just curious because if someone was selling me something that has been lined I would want to know what’s underneath it.

I've had a constant overheating problem on my 40, replaced everything and still gets hot and before you ask how hot or high was the gauge I'll tell you it filled up the overflow tank. And gauge went to fng hot. New rebuilt head and OEM gaskets, radiator, fan, water pump, the fan clutch, hoses, thermostat etc... flushed again after rebuilding engine. Could it be the catalytic converter? I took it off and catalyst balls are falling out of the probe tube mount hole! I thought these things were solid!? Any help is appreciated!!
** Update......pulled the fill plug (no idea that it was once a thing to refill them!) and emptied the beads. Will see what happens without the beads and overheating issue. I have an OEM head gasket but i do remember some of the block and head passages were solid on the gasket...is that normal or do I need to go back and remove head and cut the holes for coolant to flow better??

I absolutely did at each stage: strip to bare metal, POR-15, epoxy primer, Lizardskin, bedliner. Ideally I keep this rig until the earth runs out of oil, but in the off chance my great great grandkids want to sell it, they can show the new buyer the pictures.

Raise some pigs for oil and grease in the end says!! Never give up!

This is why repaint jobs and diamond plate panel covered 40's don't sell.

I take pics b4 I start and during repairs & paint. Thru the last couple yrs working on the frt end parts, I have proof of new oem fenders, and pics of the hood, bib, aprons and such, which all have been stripped down to bare metal, sealed, primed, and painted. The latest project has been is slicing and dicing a windshield frame for future use, which have all been documented.
