Another postponed project collecting dust in the basement….. I removed the bumpers shortly after bringing her home some 9 years ago - they were pretty mangled
I broke all 4 of the lower bolts on removal and just left them until…….. now! All 4 of the little bastards refused to budge no matter what - one still had a drill bit in it from the extractor kit I tried. I got lucky drilling them out and was able to chase the M8 threads in all but one!
Got after the bent bumpers with trusty BAH, sander and some SS paint - Stand back a bit and they look presentable

In case some missed it. I made this.

I also bought a USB extension with a mounting flange to go in the dash but it wasn't compatible or had a bad connection. So I gutted the flange end, trimmed the plastic from the radio USB cord and put the flanged end on the radio jack.

I got my roll cage reinstalled after some badly needed bodywork. I'm still up in the air as to whether I'll reinstall the back pieces as I like the look without them. Installed my rust / dent free barn doors on the back (Thanks Edmond!!) and tomorrow the replacement running boards will go on. My windshield is at the glass company where it has sat for the past two weeks, I'm hoping that will be done soon. No heated garage so the rest of the paint and body work is on hold until next spring. Next up will be a new wiring harness and exhaust system.

He drove it again. Of course I noticed that the rear side marker lights aren't connected. And I believe the original radiator has finally given out. But that's OK.

Finished up my lift spring install. Thought about installing the shocks.

Probably tear the knuckles apart next. Maybe install the shocks. Can’t decide
What about your lift mate (e.g. make)?
Height?
Pics?

Dreamed of owning one of these…

I have binged all the Utube videos on this build I could. It is a rad rig for what it is and I would love to drive it.

It left me disappointed though. They could have built this body from Topnault panels and not destroyed and removed an original from circulation.

There is hardly any Toyota in it. Tube chassis, Currie axles, atlas tcase, transmission t350 or t400 (not sure). Interior looks nothing like Toyota.

Considering Toyota build it I wish they would have used more Toyota DNA in the build.

Edit: I have searched the TRD page for the tank tread skid, it does not appear that it is available yet.😁
