I’ll second that. Looks real close.I use rustoleum satin nickel. Close enough for me and available easy.
Cut bumperette so it will fit around the tire carrier. Anyone know the paint code for the silver one?

your DMV let that plate go through? Must be a Jersey thing. Awesome
Do you usually clear over it?I’ll second that. Looks real close. View attachment 3467544View attachment 3467545
No it holds up pretty well. If I did the bumper again I’d clear it just because it takes a little more abuse.Do you usually clear over it?
Plate I made and welded into a reinforced stock bumper. View attachment 3467570
That’s a great looking setup! Very nice 40! I have a plate made up for my 8274 and was thinking the same thing using the stock bumper. My bumper has flat tow brackets welded on as well, So you can take the tow setup on & off. I like how you notched the V there looks awesome! I also see that you reinforced on outside.Plate I made and welded into a reinforced stock bumper. View attachment 3467570
I used a thick walled rectangle tube inside along with the plate. Also more attachment points to the frame and frame plates. I was going to add heavy shackle mounts that I could use as tow brackets but I was on a time crunch. That’s a great looking setup! Very nice 40! Mines wire tied to my trailer hitch right now. I live in the People's Republic of NJ as well.your DMV let that plate go through? Must be a Jersey thing. Awesome
You got a friendly DMV guy when you registered this truck… I went for historic registration on Monday…had the two photos as required and they gave me a list why it was not eligible. Despite the shock absorbers (duh) The biggest issue was the winch.. I gave up…I have dealt with dmv for decades with my antique motorcycles and have made more return trips for stupid reasons and thought I had figured out all of the obstacles that could exist..but they keep making up new onesCut bumperette so it will fit around the tire carrier. THE Beauty OF ‘historic” tags at least in NJ is that you only pay the one-time registration fee, without the annual renewal. There are however limitations for driving..mileage limits are not really enforced but I can only imagine the story you tell if you try to explain that your on your way home from a car show at midnight….![]()
