Well, had a mishap with one of the o-rings and had to pull the plate. Separately, I hate RTV…so messy. Putting things back together, now.
Good luck. Not sure what you mean by "had to pull the plate".

I got new o rings from the dealer before I started, for the pipe from the pump to the plate. I dont think they are anything special.

I often wonder how the next 45 years in buisness are going to go. A lot of my crew will retire in the next 10 years and I know I can’t replace some of them due to knowledge and experience. Add in the fact they are great workers and great people persons makes it a needle in a haystack situation.

Trust me, I get it. We are hiring firefighters that can't pick a "wrench" out of a pile of tools that includes pliers. And our city-run maintenance shops won't admit it but are in crisis mode due to not being able to find techs.

I wish you luck with it.. sadly I think it'll get worse before it gets better.

Technical skills like mechanics, HVAC, machining, plumbing, electrical, welding are all going to see the costs associated skyrocket over the next 30 years. Too much focus on college for everyone, while people shat on tech schools for decades.

There's no gender studies, art history, history, or classics factory hiring people.

People with technical skills and actually good at their jobs, will continue to make money hand over fist.

What makes me nervous is all the private equity firms buying up family plumbing businesses, etc. nothing says customer focused like corporate Wall Street ownership.

Brought it to a trusted friend with an adult garage, a beefier build and a lot more knowledge than me for some undercoating and rust prevention.... left with my bp51's no longer having metal on metal contact on the braided hose, headlights readjusted and having met his amazing new dog.

These trucks are great - networks just as good or better. If you're in the NY/NJ/PA area, and like me cant find a Toyota service department that consistently cares, he's well worth the drive.

Next up - roadtrip to MT next month :steer:

Sadly I sit at a desk job fully capable of building a house by my self and can wrench on any vehicle up to the size of a 45’ bus since I don’t want to walk away from guaranteed money.

After thinking about it for a long time, I decided to give these aluminium racks a chance to make the trunk a bit more organized.
Came from China in about a week and the installation itself was completed in 20 minutes. The adhesive pads hold very strongly but you can (as I did) also screw everything down with the screws supplied if you don't care about holes in the paneling.

Hi, could you share a link where you ordered it? thanks

With the Rhino Rack I have added a wind fairing to cut the noise. I have seen a light bar installed in that space as well which probably makes it acceptable as well. Be good to share a picture of that as well for your setup and let folks know it is otherwise loud.
Which wind fairing did you go with? The one available in AUS looks much more interesting than the flimsy poly one we have available here...

Basically DIY as other fairings on the market would have sit on the sunroof glass which is not a good idea.

Tell me more about the GME radio please!
Hands down the best user interface for a handheld anywhere in the world. Works with an app. I bought two radios. One for my 200 and one for my 80, so we can tune to a preset channel and track the rigs on the app when my son and I go "out there". Obviously, it's an Australian brand and they are a bit more regulated than we are here, but in a closed loop it works for my rigs. I've got handhelds, too.
