Flat-towed my 40 from Austin to Mason, TX for the Lone Star Land Cruiser Roundup last weekend. Took out the third row and rear seats to sleep on an inflatable mattress that's intended for home use, then found myself wallowing in a deflated mattress at 2:00am. Oh well.

By the way, I can't get the back seat, the 40% side, to unlatch from the floor and fold forward. Any ideas?

If it isn't otherwise damaged, let the inertia of the seat back coming forward help it unlatch the floor portion.

That usually works, but no joy this time. I'll keep working it.

[edit] For posterity, the back seat un-latching mechanism only works as the seat back folds forward. If you've got the hinge brackets unbolted as I did, and you've set the seat in place before bolting the hinges back in, and the latch catches, you may be stuck. I carefully wedged a 2' 2x4 under the seat bottom, then wedged a second 2x4 under the end of the first. This created some upward pressure on the seat bottom, the same sort of pressure that the seat bracket springs exert. I then sent the seat forward as per normal, and it un-latched from the floor.

I had that happen to an RX350. had the hatch up, and was attaching some stuff to the roof rack with bungee cords, and one bungee let loose and smashed the rear window.

New for me as I followed what some others have done.

2000 watt invertor and put some outlet at the end of the fit kit.
The 1/2 square stock is used to space off the box so the slide continues to function.

I'll likely add and out outlet outside the vehicle on the bumper but that will be later.

Nice! Any concerns about airflow? I've seen some people run a computer style fan to the drawer front.

Mounted my antenna on the rear ARB tire swing out.
Using 1/2 of the ridged light mount.

I ran it for hours under load and it seemed to get enough air flow. I does have good fans and the back of the fit kit is open.

If I do add any more flow it will be a 2" hole to the right of the volt meter with a PVC grill.

I have seen Ed add them without the extra vent you speak of. I've had the inverter for aa while now, it is the end cap I refitted with the outlets and on/off inverter switch.

That mean these should fit also for 2011 LC ?
I’d say as long as the RLCAs are the same, they should fit. So check the part number between 2011 and 2013. It’s very likely they are the same.

Finally tackled my first AHC fluid swap at 205k, PO had 2 done before I got the rig at 141k.

Swapped in about 4.5L of the metal can protected magical unicorn tears. Amazing overengineered tips on those jugs btw.

Took a bath in dirty fluid when the hose disconnected in the dark.

Not sure why I was I timidated by this job, in hindsight it’s easier than changing the other fluids.

It does have better road handling manners and rolling over speedbumps is significantly better, no more “6minute abs”….

I need a pump like that in my life after changing gear oil and making a mess of it. Could you share make/model/source info?

Hey @CharlieS i just picked one of Amazon that had decent power at an okay price point, link below. Got it for $25 and am very happy so far, used it for 4.5L of AHC, 10.5qts of WS ATF, and both front and rear diffs. It struggled a bit with the thicker oil in the middle of the winter but warming up the oil inside on my heater floor vent made that a non-issue.

Def better than trying to struggle with a hand pump while under the truck in akward positions, just remember there’s no safety switch/trigger so if the hose falls out it just keeps going until you turn it off with your other hand…. I learned from experience the importance of holding the hose in.

Quick tip on AHC if your using this pump
1) it’s great for evacuating the AHC in the reservoir, but not sure how low it empty u want it, I played it a bit safe.
2) when filling the AHC, make sure u get the tube all the way through the neck into the bottom of the reservoir…. Initially mine was only halfway down the deck and fluid shot back at me for some reason, must have gotten log-jammed or something…

Pump is def worth it for changing fluids maybe a handful of times but no idea what happens after a year or two of usage. Should pay for itself by avoiding the dealership one time

Picked up 4 AHC accumulators for $350 from IMPEX. Shipping appears to be about $50.

Hoping @TeCKis300 writes one of his phenomenal DIY posts before I tackle it as I know he ordered replacements shocks and accumulators as well.

On a parts ordering spree…..
