First oil change since I bought it. Happy to find the filter and drain plug not overtightened and no stripped skid plate bolts. Amazing since the PO had the services done at the dealer.

Definitely adds up. Nice setup!

Ever get her on a scale? I'd bet your rear axle is in the 5500lbs or more range so I can see why your running 70PSI. My previous scale had mine in the 5100lb range. Good thing we know the 200-series is a workhorse.

The Cruiser alone is 8,000 lbs from a scrapyard scale.

I mentioned in an earlier post that I added two OEM cross rails for eventual use with a roof rack. I wanted a roof rack that was made to go on OEM rails so I chose the BajaRack MegaMule. The thought of putting a rack that involved removing and tossing all the OEM roof rack hardware was not for me. So the BajaRack roof rack and extra mounting brackets came in and yesterday afternoon was installation day. (My back hurts :bah: )

I positioned the rack to be well away from the "shark fin" and roughly centered on the roof rails. I positioned the 2 additional cross rails so they would line up with the supports on the roof rails and be roughly centered for loading purposes. I was a bit constrained as to where they could go due to the spacing of the bars on the rack itself; the front cross rail is at its forward-most position. The mounts are very beefy. I'm only guessing at how much weight the rack can hold but I'm pretty sure it's more than the officially published 154 lbs.

I replaced all the zinc-plated mounting nuts, bolts and washers that came with the rack with identical parts in stainless steel.

I have BajaRack's Wavian Jerry can mount to go on next. I will mount it at the rear passenger side. To mount it there means that the base of the mount will straddle the rear passenger side rack mount. So I'll have to "MacGyver" spacers for it sit on as the rack mounts project upward and will interfere with the cans laying flat. I think I'll use 1 in x 3/8 in. aluminum bars for that.

Wind noise begins to be noticeable starting at 65 mph. but is not bothersome at least so far. I expect it to get worse once loaded with lots of camping stuff.

Mah baby:

The BajaRack mounts are monsters - floor tiles are 9 in. x 9 in.

End result.

BajaRack Jerry can mount - also very beefy.

Added an ARB Steel Roof Rack yesterday. I originally had taken off the factory roof rack and ran it slick on top for almost the past year. But since I do go off road/camping more often I figured a good roof rack would be something I need and could use. I really like the classic look of the ARB.

The final product is now installed. Heftyfabworks Sliders for the 200 Series LC. LX570 is being reviewed as the legs and frame plate will be drastically different to accommodate AHC. More to come on that in the future. These things are beefy and I have always liked Hefty's overall design.

Next up - skid plates.

Had the chrome color matched with vinyl wrap yesterday. It’s not perfect but the white is a hard color to match. In most lights it looks pretty good. When you shine a light on it in the dark it’s noticeably different though.

Looks perfect! Any rubbing issues?

Finally scored some RWs and mounted LT285/70 Maxxis Razr AT - I've run them on my work truck and loved them!

Who sells these? I like that they have a 35x11.5r17 and have been using their tires on my mountain bikes for 25 years.

Installed Desert Does It MMP. Aside from the Element extinguisher with the Mag Clips any other ideas for mounting to the front side of the mount? Looking for a way to mount my Bushcrafter 162 or K-Bar horizontally to the panel. Looks like mini quick fists would mount well to the 4 holes. But I don’t think I want anything sticking out that far on the drivers side.

I thought this was wild so i just confirmed... That is 100 lbs. a corner!

How does it ride, handle, brake? Oh how i wish i could take it for a spin!

Also, that truck is not leaning that much, it must be the driveway?!?

I did a test coat of Eastwoods Rust Encapsulator Platinum on the engine side of my BudBuilt Skids. I was sloppy with the application, but more interested in laying down a thick coat. Hit the plate with a purple stripper disk, acetone wipe, tack cloth and then foam brushed the paint on.

I went with paint over powder coat for easier touch up after some abuse, every year before winter.

Drives great! I enjoy it for a 6k lb suv. My driveway has some weird dips makes everything look like it’s sitting strangely lol
