What have you done to your 200 Series this week? (23 Viewers)

Those look like cruise missiles directed at you and your passengers’ heads in the event of a front end collision.

Obviously you aren't taking into account the 200 Series "head armor" that mounts into the top of the seat back. I believe in less robust platforms its called a "headrest". All kidding aside, I see what you are saying and usually would agree if it was anyone other than @gaijin doing that mod. You won't find a more safety focused member around these parts, so I'm inclined to assume that he has solved for that scenario in some way. Would be interested in what that solution looks like.

I'm satisfied the only way those extinguishers are going to go ballistic is if the Kaon roof shelf completely separates from the body of the vehicle - and I don't believe that could happen. Even then, I believe the extinguishers would still be attached to the shelf.

Advertising blurb for the holders:

Introducing the highest quality, most thought out Fire Extinguisher holder in existence. You could settle for a cheap Chinese holder that comes in black only with a tiny piece of 1" hook and loop that you pray is stitched on and won't fall off...or you could get ours, which is proudly Made in the U.S.A. - Did we mention, you have your choice of colors for no extra charge? That's right! Match your Fire Extinguisher Holder to the color of your vehicle, and/or any Bartact or Trek Armor seat covers and accessories. This fits both padded and non-padded roll bars, AND PALS webbing as a MOLLE accessory...so no matter how you roll, you're covered!

Here's a link to a video by the manufacturer:

FYI - for my installation, after slipping off the retaining loop, the extinguishers slide out the back (with some resistance) without having to release the large velcro straps.

Still doing some wire clean up, also experimenting with a spot to mount the SPOD but I mounted my Anytone 578 DMR radio on a swivel mount that slides behind the panel, no drilling needed, it is firmly in place, will see how it holds up there.

Will post some more pics when finished.

Found a local exhaust shop (Manta Performance) here in Aus that do exhausts for the 3UR in the LX570's.. They're on the way to my FIL's town so would have been ideal to get done on a drive out some time... mention it in passing to the wife..

"You've got your own noisy car! Why would you make mine noisy! Nooooo"

So there goes that.. for reference I daily a GLE63s and have a 383 LS1 stroker in my weekend/project car.. I did try to sell her on the "but it is only a bit noisy when you step on it!"..

Guess I'll need to just get her a new daily driver so I can make the LX a pure weekend/offroader toy eventually.

Do you get as much satisfaction as I do when you get the chance to use the word ballistic IN CONTEXT? Even better when applied to an object not normally thought of in terms of ballistics. It’s like a two-fer.

Yes ;)

The temps here in central Illinois are finally warm enough to work on the 200 outside. First on the table is BudBuilt skids. Removed the factory skids today. Hoped to have that done and the cross member installed today, but one of the bolts on the fuel skid broke off so needed to drill that out. Tomorrow will install cross member and skids and then solve the fuel skid problem. The rest of the weekend will be the install of the TJM T13 bumper. I will try to have some pics of that.

Installed BubBuilt skids today.

Are those the aluminum ones? Any vibrations in the gear shift?
Al front and fuel, the rest are stainless steel. Not sure what you mean by vibration in gear shift. I have no rattles from the skids.

Cupholder replacement from BH3D; new floor mats (black Friday sale, finally got around to swapping them out); new Techstream cable (thanks to tip from ArnieC) - programmed Lexus credit card key (no more keys!) and TPMS sensors for the rock warriors (finally!)

Ultragauge bracket was terrible and eventually broke - removed the ashtray and temporarily stuck it there with a bit of 3M mounting tape. ("This is only temporary, unless it works.")

What fire extinguisher mount is that?
