Nice! Would love to see your mobile set up inside the cruiser. I am currently working on my DMR radio install and looking for a good place to mount it as it does not have a removable faceplate (Anytone 578).
I dont have a mobile set up in this land cruiser. I have a CB in my FJ60 which is my trail rig. probably just get a handheld CB for the 200 series, as infrequent as the need will be.

Changed oil. Upgraded to group 31 size battery with slee kit. And installed a K & N Intake. I got a tundra one and had to Cut the heat shield a little bit because it was too tall. It too 5 min to fix with the Sawzall ( smiles per miles have increased dramatically). Otherwise it was plug and play. I know, I know, I know the Toyota engineered one is the best, but it's all for smiles per miles. It sound great under acceleration!! Also found what look like signs of rodents... no droppings. Just this broken down foam. What are people doing to keep rodents out of their engines?

Mothballs work very well, but do have an odor (the reason they work).

Yes! I did! I bought some aluminum and had a machine shop cut it for me.
🙄 you just added on to my huge to-do list....

sources the aluminum from big box store? Should be easy to cut with a jig saw.

I could not find aluminum that wide at big box store. I got it at Metal Supermarket. $17. i think you would be able to cut with a jigsaw. I took it to a machine shop. Wanted clean straight cuts. Didnt trust my skills.

Picked the LC up from @benc at Dissent a couple weeks back. Had some fun on the Mojave Trail on the way home. Wish I would have stayed out west a couple more weeks and missed these subzero temps in the midwest.
Love it. Just curious, why didn’t you go with the full front? Are you pre 2016?

No, 2017. I could have gone with the full front, but honestly I like the way this looks better. I am also trying to keep weight in mind with the build. That's why only one swing out on the rear to start, too.

Truck looks great. What size KO2s are those?
they look like 275/70/18's. I could be wrong
Not sure that is from rodents. May be just the foam breaking down over time. I think that is pretty common.
good to know! I was surprised since my 2013 only has 54k miles at this point.

I’m *this* close to picking up my new LC! Literally! Currently sitting in a motel five miles from @Eric Sarjeant ’s shop for a Tuesday morning delivery. We were going to drive from Ohio early AM, but weather didn’t look so good, so drove today before the ice storm. Should be fine by the time we head home.

I’m like a kid on Christmas Eve!! 😁

Please consider another hotel if things get icy again. The thoughf of z followup post here after ice sliding makes me wince... ;) CONGRATS!

Received and installed the bh3d printing cupholder (BH3D Printing - http://www.bh3dprinting.com) @bhicks . Fit is excellent and it's 1000x more useful than the pos that came factory (though I can no longer fit bottles of bourbon there...). I ordered two different types, the individual cupholder inserts and the full replacement (that loses the lid) since I wasn't quite sure which would fit our use case best. Since it's my wife's daily, she opted for the non-lid version due to the utility. Had to pull the console cupholder harder than I thought to remove it but it came out in one piece.

Thanks! Yea, the next day was just fine, with no precipitation at all.

After driving in Ohio's winters over 50 years, I'm pretty comfortable with inclement weather. It usually isn't "your" capabilities and vehicle that bite you in the ass, though, but the other guy who isn't familiar with the precautions needed in varying (and various) conditions. The most important driving precaution in any bad weather is to decide when it just isn't that important to get wherever you were going, and staying put instead.
