Did you look at the AT2’s? I am trying to decide between the two. The II’s are a little less expensive but not enough to matter a whole lot. I have heard great things about the II’s and wonder how much different the III’s are.

I did not consider the ATII. I was about to buy the Wildpeak AT3W, then I saw the announcement of the ATIIIs. Nothing against the ATIIs which do have great reviews, but I decided to try the newest design, assuming Toyo is a high quality tire manufacturer, and the tires were lighter than others in this category even in the "E" load rating. Very impressive. Budget did not factor into my decision as I purchased budget tires before, and was not happy.

Finished the not so hidden winch today. Had to seriously mod the Trail Tailor HW bracket so I decided to go big and push the hawse all the way through the grill.

Definitely go for the III's.

The II's were introduced IIRC, in 2012. And they were largely just a compound change from the original ATs. Making the design over 10 years old. The II's were class leading when they were newly introduced. Just about every competitors tires has been significantly redesigned since then and the IIs IMO are no longer competitive. I'm particularly interested in the IIIs and awaiting more reviews and information.

I am waiting for my 17” wheels a d was vacillating between the the II’s and III’s. After reading this and above I am going to pick up the III’s. They run about $250 here for 17x70x285

Well... it depends.

1. Do you have an LC200, NOT LX570?

2. Are your tires LT275/70R18?

If you answered YES to both questions, then yes, the RCTIP (Recommended Cold Tire Inflation Pressure) for LT275/70R18 tires on an LC200 is 41psi Front/Rear.

Removed Heritage rack.. that lasted one day. Swapped over Thule Aero bars from other vehicle. The bars are about 61” long. Test mounted Thule Hullavator kayak swing down rack for clearance at side of cruiser. Plenty! So that’s done. Trailering setup next.

I have had that rack for quite a while and on different vehicles. I can manage a good size kayak by myself pretty easily. Just need to lift it about 3ft and all the strapping is done while it hangs there. Then flip it up. I think it’s important to tie down both ends to prevent rocking. Pretty hard on the factory rack rails.

How do you like that Hullavator?

I have a Hullavator as well and couldn’t be happier. Our tandem weighs 62 lbs and the vator lifts it with ease. IMHO, it’s a worthwhile investment.
