And then buy some extra lug bits and throw the locks away. Those things are the devil!

Throwing wheel locks away is ALWAYS a good move. Very prone to breaking at the key level.

About Bora spacers... The spacers themselves are nice, but I have discovered that theg REALLY need to provide stainless hardware. Unfortunately, their bolts/threads rust BADLY.

I decided to teach my fender a lesson.

Drove it 2500 miles, Phoenix to Telluride, Telluride to Breckenridge, Breck to Moab, and then back home to Phoenix. Awesome trip, amazing how diverse the SW is. Got to love tailgates and pizzaView attachment 2015579View attachment 2015580

Beautiful family & sounds like s great trip. Definitely amazing the variety that can be encountered in one trip. One of many reasons the drive to and from Colorado is always a favorite. Lots of alternate routes through AZ and UT to try mix it up.

Yuk! That's not going to be fun any way you look at it. You'll likely have to cut or break off the stud/nut, which won't be easy without marking up your wheel... I'd probably try to cut a groove/slot in the end of the lug nut, then try to split it with a cold chisel. Regardless, the lug nut and stud are ruined, and maybe even the spacer (if the stud spun). Good luck!

Thanks!

I would take my hammer drill, buy a good drill bit the size of the stud and cutting oil then make a temp stand out of some scrap wood to set the hammer drill straight on the stud and drill out the stud until the lug breaks or falls off. Use masking tape around the working area on the wheel to protect it that may be your best route at saving the wheel. Best of luck

This is the strategy I'm going to attack this issue with. But before that, I'm going to try and impact it out with someone else grabbing at the wheel to hopefully get the lug to get back on the right thread. My go to shop owner said he sees these locks do that a lot. If the impact doesn't work, then drilling it out the lug will be the next solution. I may have to drill into the lug but from what he said, it can be filled (assuming it's not destroyed).

I have an extra set of splined lugs and will definitely be removing the locks which bugs me because we see cars on blocks around here.

I wonder if spraying some of that aviation grade anti rust film on the studs would be worth it?

Thanks!

I need to check. It might be just the nuts they provide to connect the spacers to the hub, but can’t remember...but either way...they were a rusty mess when I removed them...where an earlier removal of spidertax showed no such issue, after a longer installed time.

LOL, apparently I was wrong - THIS one is the knackered one... Amazing what 2 missing washers can do.....

I just got done installing this:
2016066

With the Slee Bumper and the rear loaded for camping I have pretty limited vision out the rear. For under a under 100 bucks and a couple hours of installation I am pretty impressed- It is a toguard brand off Amazon- It has a forward facing dash cam as well. Thru a touch interface on the mirror/monitor it allows one to adjust up and down the field of view digitally.

You can see the OEM rear camera Complemented by the toguard rear mirror monitor- the toguard is adjusted to the closet / down position in above photo. I attach the camera to Slee bumper Jerry can rack.

Added an Eezi-Awn Manta 270 from Paul and team @Equipt and it is crazy easy to operate. Test run in driveway complete. Next stop - national forest somewhere.
