Speaking of which, how often should the BJ's be greased? and yes, IMHO you should replace it, as not sure how much grease is left.

Oem ball joints come pre greased with no provision for a zerk fitting. The only zerk fittings on this truck are the six on the driveshafts and yokes.

I saw that and my old Durango had a similar design and they crapped out at barely 10k miles which is why I'm a wee bit wary ...

Kill it with fire. Though the ball joints was all on you. Don't do that to the LX.

Sorry all these mods were done YEARS after my BJ's crapped out.

I had fun modding it, the shaker scoop was ... taking me back to the 'Cuda days but the car as a whole was a load of crap. Still rims, 3" lift, ceramic headers, spacers... by the time I was done not much other than the frame was OEM. MOPAR fan since my 68 Roadrunner but the lack of QA on the Durango just killed it for me.

Having said that I'm looking for a 71 Cuda 383/426/440 MT to relive my teens. Will be heading down to NM to look around.

Those look like hammer marks from whomever removed that tie rod end from the knuckle most recently. Using a hammer strike on the knuckle where the tie rod seats is a common way to remove the joint. It looks like they missed the knuckle a time or two.

The shiny spot is the spring clamp that retains the boot to the joint.

Ordered two tie rods..

And you are 100% right.

I took the wheel off today to start the front brakes. Took a closer look and there's a hammer spot or two. Went back to the receipts and saw this:

@DRCocaCola takes home the prize. Since (would you believe??) 4D-DOGS was taken in AK(!?!?!?!), I just reversed it.
