Popped in an AirTag in a sealed container for poor man theft tracking.
I did this a while ago too. It’s more for my OCD than anything. But it’s great.

I feel ya, 90+ here today too...

107°F ambient and crawling an arduous trail to 10kft.

Hot is an understatement... To be continued

Wouldn’t be a 200 at elevation with out gas leaking out of the filler neck 😂

How did AC do?

I was driving a 2026 rental Durango home in Houston yesterday. Getting on it a bit and coolant hit 252F and almost pegged the gauge. On a new car with 10k miles on it and one passenger. Absolutely piece of junk.

Picked up some swag on last weekend's pilgrimage to Land Cruiser Mecca. Talked to some really cool people and saw some cool trucks at Cruisers and Coffee at the museum last Saturday.

After I "modded it" and just about replaced everything in it, I got rid of it. Yep, a piece of crap and mine was a 99, but an interesting project. And yes, it's the original steel hood - measure 5 times, cut once.

You guys should look up the time capsule by elevation lab.

Sealed container that powers the AirTag via two AA lithiums. ~10yr battery life.

You could bury that behind an interior trim panel and not have to worry about it for a very long time. I attached mine behind a panel in the grille opening so it gets max range. Hopefully it’ll never be needed.

Spent the day peeling off failed PPF from the hood of the truck as local shops didn’t wanna touch it
I’ve found that even if you want to outsource something, it depends on finding someone actually wanting to work. Yet another instance of the weird times we are in. Smh

Frankly, if they didn’t want to touch it - you did better work than they would have anyways. I am sure you did, but check out how to’s online first. And watch a few. I’m hopeful it came off en bloc vs confetti for you. Any damage under it? How old was it?

Came off like confetti…just couple of rock chips that penetrated the film…looks like the hood PPF was dealer installed from new…2019…have a couple of spots to remove old adhesive, judicious use of a non scratch scouring pad and gasoline took care of the glue along with plastic razor blades

3M adhesive remover works to remove the glue. Don’t spray on black plastic trim.

Key is to peel it at a 45deg angle from underneath to avoid leaving glue behind.

Or GooGone. Reason I've never bothered with PPF's, they yellow over time... but the P folks just drool over it. YMMV
